Rooms clean, prices are great, but you get what you pay for.
I got the VIP room that had a great TV in it, but unfortunately the shower was sketchy - hot water is not guaranteed, with a bad pressure. Also on the first night after I returned to the room, there was a giant cockroach waiting for me in the bathtub! Got the night guard to catch it for me thankfully.
The bed was clean, but no blankets are provided, just a sheet, so i ended up sleeping without the aircon on. I am a light sleeper too, and was woken up daily around 4am by the Muslim prayers. However, i think it might be just me, since nobody else who reviewed this location seemed to have been woken up by it.
Otherwise, the location is great and the food is also delicious. There's a travel agent just across the road who arranged all the tours at reasonable prices. Restaurants, bars, batik boutiques and a supermarket are all within walking distance. If you feel up to it, you could also walk to the Sultan Palace and Malioboro.
