“You get what you pay for”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Rooms clean, prices are great, but you get what you pay for.

I got the VIP room that had a great TV in it, but unfortunately the shower was sketchy - hot water is not guaranteed, with a bad pressure. Also on the first night after I returned to the room, there was a giant cockroach waiting for me in the bathtub! Got the night guard to catch it for me thankfully.

The bed was clean, but no blankets are provided, just a sheet, so i ended up sleeping without the aircon on. I am a light sleeper too, and was woken up daily around 4am by the Muslim prayers. However, i think it might be just me, since nobody else who reviewed this location seemed to have been woken up by it.

Otherwise, the location is great and the food is also delicious. There's a travel agent just across the road who arranged all the tours at reasonable prices. Restaurants, bars, batik boutiques and a supermarket are all within walking distance. If you feel up to it, you could also walk to the Sultan Palace and Malioboro.

Within easy walking distance of most attractions and main streets. Room was clean and the pool was really nice. I really enjoyed the selection of breakfast foods. It wasn't just fried rice or a banana pancake. I found the staff friendly. I originally had a fan only room, but they moved me to a room with an ac when I requested it.

This is a two star hotel charging like a three star. Don't expect to much of the hotel "stuff" like good quality of bed sheets, shampoo in bathroom etc. That being said the hotel is in many ways very cosy, the staff very accommodating and location is good and near many excellent restaurants and bars.

Booked the hotel this morning for 2 nights, just arrived after a 13 & 1/2 hour bus ride and a taxi to the place only to find they have overbooked. The staff advised us of a hotel we can stay in down the road as there is nothing else nearby we are stuck there and it is a not a nice place but too tired to argue and search for anywhere else. We received a confirmation for our booking and nothing else all day to say they had overbooked. They could at least have organized another hotel for us if their customer service was any good. They have the cheek to say that our night for tomorrow is booked and to come back. As if! You can stuff your booking.

This hotel is definitely good value. Rooms are so clean you could eat on the floor, the swimming pool is big and it is Well located. But, somehow we didn't feel home here. The staff is friendly but not really warm, didn't really try to help or tried but didn't have much info or didn't spreak english enough. We once spoke to the owner as we were looking for best way to go to dieng for 2 days. We got a blunt 'i am not busy with these things' not really nice. Practically there is nothing wrong but it is just very cold. It looks like the staff is making the hours and leave, nobody seems to be really involved. I guess our feeling comes from numerous little details like for example the fact that son was sleeping with us and we never got an extra towel for him, no extra breakfast or anything. This lack of attention was quite unusual for us in indonesia. Food is ok, not great. Breakfast minimum. Swimming pool in the sun only in the morning.

We stayed here for three nights in the "VIP" room and had a great time.
Pro's
- clean, great bed, large tv, air con (although we did not need it)
- superb breakfast, served at your room, restaurant or probably wherever you would like to have it)
- great staff. Very friendly, arraned laundry service and drop off service at the airport of Yogya
- nice pool
- great lunch
- location (located in the Prawirotaman district, known for its nice restaurants and bars)
Cons
- a bit pricey (380k idr per night)

Would definitely recommend!

stayed there five nights..nothing to reproach ,nice hotel, well situated ,quiet garden, really nice swimming pool.
One critic only :the staff and the direction don't seem to see you. Never a friendly word from the boss or the men cleaning the garden.
Women are more friendly...:)
But it's only a small inconvenient!
