very very close to Malioboro street where so many street vendors selling local goods and foods (2 minutes away). really love the location, although it is located within a small alley, especially with cheaper room price compared to other starred hotel (who needs the star anyway if almost all day you will be out on the street?!)

hot shower, clean room but they need to change the light bulb with brighter color (yellow is too dim). nice breakfast and near the hotel you can have your dirty clothes washed and charged by its weight (less than 10,000 rupiah/kilogram).

about 75 meters from yogya train station. so if someone in the station offerring you to rent a car to take you to this hotel, believe me they just take advantages on your new arrival in this beautiful city.

at Malioboro try 'becak' (3 wheels bike where two of you sit at the front of the biker) or 'delman' (carriage pulled by a horse).

the owner is always happy to help!

Room Tip: since it's family of 4 adults so we took 2 rooms with connecting door.

This hotel is very nice. It is down a small alley where you can find a nice resto and some other small hotels. The location is very good. The hotel has nice rooms, bathroom is nice, nice wall paintings. Friendly owners and a very nice balcony to enjoy a drink. Breakfast is excellent and a good start of the day. Good price/quality.

having read many Yogya hotel reviews, we setlled for this one and booked it for all our 3 nights in Yogya.
It turned out to be pretty much what we had expected - simple but adequate no-frills rooms (a little dimly lit we must agree), and decent location - short walks to food, Malioboro, etc. In fact, the restaurant just across the lane from 1001 is pretty good (sorry can't emember the name) - they make great fruit juices
one of the best things about the hotel is the staff - very helpful and mad the effort to meet our needs. We also booked our car and tour to Borobodur through the hotel and paid no more than what any of the other local tour operators were asking
We paid just over USD40 per night, but felt you could get similar standard for less.
Otherwise a pleasant stay

The hotel was great with friendly staffs who will help you with a smile anytime you asked. The room was comfy but a little bit dark but romantic if you spend the time with your loved one. If you are bored, you can sit back at the corridors and also enjoy the beautiful middle yard. They also have a good wi-fi service for those who bring their laptops. About food, you can order from the hotel itself or you can always go eat at Mi Casa Es Tu Casa restaurant which is just in front of the hotel, they have varieties of delicious food and cheap!

The location of the hotel is also near Malioboro streets and mall. It is just a few minutes walk away. At night, sometimes there will be a group of people singing at the alley, very entertaining. After staying almost a week there, I felt like home and having a hard time going back. Thanks you to all the friendly staffs and hoping that one day to meet you guys again!! Love Jogyakarta because of you! ^_^

1st night we stayed at Kristina Hotel twin room, but too bad the room face to the road and quite noisy on morning & night. We check out after breakfast and walk in to 1001 Malam Hotel. When we reached the hotel, just told them we are looking a room for 3 nights, the staff very friendly and bring us to see the room. The room is standard, 2 single bed with air cond and bathroom, hot shower, 24 hours FREE coffee and Tea, Free Wifi, simple breakfast. Important is the place comfort and peace, just on morning you will hear some flight pass through. But that time we already wake up, so not a problem to us.

We really loved staying at Hotel 1001 Malam. It's baeutifully and thoughtfully laid out, clean and friendly. Breakfast is very good indeed and coffee is always avaialble.

The location is really good (albeit a bit hard to find at first, up a small alley with other hotels and restaurants), but it's easily walkable to the city centre and the little restaurants directly opposite the hotel are well worth a try.

Staff are so friendly and speak good English.

I would certainly stay there again if returning to Yogyakarta.

Only down-side is that they seem very disorganised. We tried to book in advance one of the tours on their website, only to be told none of them are available. So we booked another one, but they had no idea about this when we arrived. So we booked it again there and the tour was OK, but not much more than just a taxi service and a bit more expensive than others which I am sure would have been better. And don't bother booking an airport pickup, needless to say, it was not there for us, but taxis are plentiful and cheaper, so do that.

At first we booked family room with connecting room via agoda, but when we call to inform that we might have to late check in, they inform that the family room was taken by somebody else that booked earlier than us. We're really dissapointed that time but the reservation staff explain to us with a very low and polite tone and finally we accepted another room without connecting door.

When we arrived, we amaze with the decoration. The hotel located in a narrow alley but it is so artistic. The room is clean, the bathroom also. I like the bed so much cause it can take me to a very deep sleep :)

The location also very good, you can just walk to Malioboro and you can find foods and snacks in hotel's surroundings.

My friends have an early morning flight and the hotel willing to make breakfast for them so that they can have breakfast at the ariport.

I love this hotel and surely recommend this hotel
