“Hotel in front of Tugu Station”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2011

if you are looking for a hotel very close to Tugu station, then this hotel is the most fitting choice, is directly opposite the old station exit, you can find this hotel
generally quite satisfactory service with the standard three-star hotel, rooms are adequate, although the bathroom is too small.
breakfast at the eternal is a wonderful thing, with a variety of menu options typical jogja
for those who love to shop can walk about five minutes, it will meet with malioboro.

Room Tip: Choose a deluxe room facing on pasar kembang street, it has better view

The standard rooms are not great as they are in a older part of the hotel. The beds were ok. There is a television. The main negative about the room was that the bathroom was smelly due to, we guess, lack of usage. The staff was very helpful, friendly and acted upon our request to deal with the bathroom smell. Housekeeping improved the smell but it remained noticeable. There is free wifi in the lobby.

The included breakfast had plenty of choice, especially indonesian style foods. The continental breakfast was good enough (toast, mini-breads, cereal, and yoghurt)

Due to the location, it's next to the train station, there is quite a bit of noise during the evening and night. Also airplanes fly over regularly, but this would be noticeable at most hotels in the center.
The superior rooms seemed to be a bit better and larger from a few glances we got.

Room Tip: I would recommend to take a superior room

The hotel was really pleasant to stay at, with good room appliances and nice staff.

The breakfast is really outstanding, when compared to indonesian standards.

The location is nice, and the proximity of the train station is not really disturbing if you're not easily awakened. (Sometimes trains signal can be heard in the middle of the night, but it's quite unfrequent).

The district is pleasant, though very crowded with motorbikes and cars.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room in the main building, not in the appendix, as it can be

We spent three nights at the Abadi Hotel in Yogya and highly recommend this hotel. The Abadi Yogya is a great place to stay. The hotel and rooms are clean and well appointed. We had adjoining rooms so that the children were close by and together (yet not) with us. The breakfast in the on-site restaurant is very good with a wide selection. The swimming pool is a nice break after a hot summer day.

I stayed three nights at this hotel. I found the location ideal just far away from the hassle and bustle of Maloboro Road which is the main tourist haunt in Jogyakarta, within easy walking distance. The hotel is across the road from a railway station. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nothing to rave about. Staff were friendly enough and very helpful. The only complaint if any I have was the toilet bowl is close to the walling making it difficult to do business other than that I would stay here again.

we won't be returning anytime soon. Stayed a total of 3 nights in April 2011.

The hotel is located close to Malioboro Street (Batik galore!) and is just across the road from the railway station which is a plus point if you are using the trains but the announcements from the loudspeakers can be annoying for those whose room is facing the road. There is also a Matahari Department store in Malioboro Street.

We stayed in a very basic standard room with air con, attached bathroom (very small) with hot and cold shower, no wifi (we were told we need to pay another USD10 to upgrade to Superior Room in order to get wifi), no fridge, no kettle, no in-room safe and no hair dryer. Our room is dirty and not well maintained. We do get 2 bottles of drinking water everyday. With a few mosques a street away, the daily morning call to prayer at 4:30am is loud and clear. Good thing we are quite use to this and is able to go back to sleep. The breakfast in the only restaurant in the hotel is acceptable with coffee, tea, juice, bread, salad, fresh fruits and local dishes. However one can order for eggs (cooked any style) from the kitchen. There's also a small pool accessible through the restaurant however we didn't use it.

There's a bunch of Becha (Pedicab) lined up in front of the hotel for short excursions but we didn't use them as we prefer to walk. The best cure for tired legs is to visit a massage center call Kakiku (My Legs, how apt!) close by. Turn left after exiting from the hotel and then hang another left at the traffic lights. Its about 50 meters from the lights on the left side of the road. There are 2 shops of the same name side by side - choose the one with air con even though it costs slightly more as the set up is more comfortable.

As for ATM, there's a row of them from different banks on the right side after exiting the hotel and a convenient store a few meters up the street on the way to Malioboro.

I stayed in hotel six nights. I booked and paid this hotel via Agoda and when came -it was at 1 a.m. I didn't have printed payment list (I spend 3 days at Bromo and I didn't have chance to print) and they said to me that I can only pay room again and they can't help me and they don't have internet acces. This was a lie. I travel a lot and this is the most disorganized hotel ever. The staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. Breakfast was ok the best I had in Indonesia. In the bathroom I found cockroaches. Room was clean. I was very disappointed and I would never stay again in this hotel.
We stayed six nights in this hotel and they should provide us cheap or free transport to airport but when I asked for transport they said that it is possible only for 85.000 rupiah but normal price for taxi was 45.000 rupiah. I think the hotel is not good value for money.
