ViaVia Restaurant is a restaurant with many menu choices. Gudeg Yogya is also on the list and menu of several countries in Asia that can be a choice of tourists. For breakfast we chose fried rice and omelette. I also chose the fresh and sweet tomato juice drink.

Today we did a lovely cooking course at Via Via, hosted by Made. We made some traditional Indonesian dishes and had our own ‘rijsttafel’. We made sambal goreng sayur, saté ayam with peanutsauce, coconut rice, two different types of sambel, tempé with caramel sauce and tempé goreng and of course we made our own krupuk! Made is very patient and while keeping us at work she told many things about the ingrediënt we were using. We al had a great time and of course we had a lovely meal. Costs per person: 150.000 roepia for two hours of cooking, all ingrediënts included! We loved it!

I really loved this place, its got a great feel about it, not only was the food great quality and very traditional to the area but the restaurant itself just had a great feel about it. They support many causes and have a shop next door selling loads of eco friendly stuff. They also have many trips you can book with them.

We sat outside here one afternoon having a couple of beers and was delighted they provided a 'curry of the day'. We had a poached fish curry and a chicken curry. super reasonable price and amazing tasting curry. Would 100% reccomend a trip here!

We have booked a cooking class for later in the week and really look forward to it.

We have been to this restaurant in 2015 as well. It changed a little but still cozy and the food is great. Indonesian (Asian) and Western dishes. The fresh juices are lovely as well. Great for lunch and dinner.
