so crowded if you come at "eating hours". the service is not as fast as expected, maybe it's because of the crowded. But, you should try the "Tahu Kipas"!!!so recommended..:)

An outdoor restaurant served iconic menu such as : Gurame Terbang, Padang Satay and I love their cucumber juice. To be honest, I'm not a fan of Gurame. But Pondok Laguna served the best taste ever. Go and try ya :)

The best tahu kipas in town; unfortunately the rest of menu (seafood/etc) is so-so. I still prefer the resto next door (IBC). So what i always do is dining in at IBC and take-away Pondok Laguna's tahu kipas to be eaten at IBC. ssshhh... its a secret ;p

one of my personal favourites for West Jawa cuisine - this market place looking resto with its market place clattering of cutlery and hustle n busle is one of Jkt's busiest famous spots for family, friends and even the occassional spots where non-asian guests are brought in to sample its menu of mostly fresh water fish and aquatic cuisine and vegetables

as a snack a good starter wud be
- Tahu udang - deep friend tofu with seafood and vege filling - break open the tofu otherwise u mite burn your tongue if u plan to eat it directly off the pan
- seafood lumpia - fried spring rolls filled with seafood and some veges to make it sound healthy
(yes there are too many fried snacks but this resto is famous becos of this oily delicacies)

main course
- the fried Gurame (carp as the english translation i understand is) is one of the local favourites and is a hit for my overseas guests who i bring along when they are adventurous enuf to try out some decent indo cuisine
- for those wishing to abstain from the fried stuff can order the grilled Gurame which comes along with its chilli and flavours

accompanied by white steamed rice and sambal Terasi (spicy chilli condiment mixed with pounded and fermented shrimp or small fish)
the Gurame is one main course that is a must order
- kangkung belacan (a leafy vege that grows on water that is endemic in tropical countries.
- ayam panggang laguna (grilled chicken with soya sauce - a little sweet for my taste - but tastes great with the terasi chilli and rice)
- another option for the chicken is the Ayam bumbu Rujak - chicken with an indonesian special sauce made from peanuts with a slight chilly twang to it

indonesian drinks to try wud be the
- es kopyor (iced young coconut drink - very refreshing and again found probably in tropical countries with coconut abound.. the young coconut is more easily chewed and has a twist of sweet to it. they normally serve this with rose syrup but get the waiter to bring the syrup aside separately otherwise they will flood your drink with it making it too sweet for your palette)
- es delima - pomegranate, jelly and selasi seeds. refreshing if they dont dump too much sugar in it

very reasonably priced, but packed daily during peak hours of 6-830pm and also working days lunch time.
try get in early or book if u have an event
