Satoo means “one” or “first” in Indonesian. This restaurant offers a very wide-ranging buffet lunch.

Some stand-outs:

Fresh seafood (tiger prawns!!! Clams!!!—I am huge on shell fish, not so huge on crustaceans).

Sashimi!!!

Peking duck!!!! I love Peking duck! Peking duck in a buffet???!!!! We have a winner!

This place is popular with the locals. The white collar professionals come in during their lunch hour and the place is almost fully seated. As the saying goes, “Eat where the locals eat.” How wrong can you go?

There are also other themed corners to this buffet eg. Asian noodles, Pasta (pasta freshly cooked on the spot for you), Asian Roast (roast chicken, roast duck), Indian, Indonesian, Western Roast. The dessert selection (with its western and Indonesian sweets) is huge and oh-so-tempting.

It seems Satoo has a theme every month. When I was there, they had a local Indonesian cuisine theme and Indonesian specialties were specially made available.

I went to SATOO Garden's launching party and left my DSLR camera by accident. Much to my suprise and amazement, one of the hotel staff found it and kept it for me! I truly felt at home being at Shangri-La Jakarta. :)

Not forgetting to mention the lavish and exquisite buffet spread at SATOO, arguably the best buffet in Jakarta so far. Mouthwatering photos can be found here: http://culinarybonanza.blogspot.com/2013/02/one-of-best-buffets-in-jakarta-satoo.html

The food was excellent! Went there for a family occasion. The buffet offers so many Indonesian food selection, from traditional to modern cuisine. Although I can't remember the price per person, it was definitely a great value. I love their sushi and sashimi corner, the raw seafood looked so fresh. I will definitely go back again on my next visit to Jakarta!

It is worth the try...
Book in advance for dinner eventhough it is weekdays...
Must try the seafood and indian food...
Although an all you can eat buffet at hotels tend to have "plain" taste, it doesn't happened here...
Looking forward for a chance to visit it again...

This is one place which serves a good selection of various cuisines and nice ambience. Even for vegetarians the choices are good and the best part is they have an Indian counter as well. Very good place for breakfast.
