The Island was small and very quiet even though there were about a hundred other people spread between the wooded island. The bungalow I stayed in was very good with everything I needed for a short stay. The view from my balcony across the deep blue sea was a tonic from the polluted streets of Jakarta. I was there to dive and I wasn't disappointed, within an hour of arriving on the island I was on a short boat trip to the first dive site,in the water with a temperature of 32 degrees
c it was warm and plenty of coral and fish life.
After diving was lunch which was buffet style, as I was the only English speaking person I had to guess the food I ate but it was very good. Another two dives ahead with one at night coming across Pygmy Seahorses, the rest of the evening was an anticlimax. Otherall, my short time in paradise was unforgettable and to be recommended.

Very good location, enough far away from Jakarta at about 90 minutes of fast boat, Putri is a welcome island of the 110 atolls called Thousand Islands. The accommodation, a cottage with sea view, is nice and clean. Very kind the person working at Dive shop who organize the small boat and take you around of the surrounding atolls. We spent all day in one atoll alone, with beautiful beaches and clean sea. The menu at the restaurant was not really great, during the week days many dishes are missing; for example there was not fish available, quite strange for being on the small island, and the quality of the food is just standard. Overall it's a good vacation, unique experience, a suggested place to go near Jakarta.

Best resort we have visited in the 1000 Island overall.

Rooms are large and to Western standards (2-3 star) and bathrooms are excellent compared to other resorts, AC is cold, fridge, and furniture for storing luggage, (even a wardrobe). Balcony is comfortable but we didn't get to spend much time there.

The island is actually worthy of the title resort and is generally well kept and maintained. Very good quality jetty where you can jump off and swim/snorkel over the reef. Dive shop on the island is good and PADI certified. Also included in your stay is a sunset cruise (we saw dolphins, no sunset) recommend you grab a cold beer or two before you board.

Alcohol prices are a little extortionate at Rp 25k a can ($2.50 US), although we live in Jakarta so are used to it being a lot cheaper. Bring spirits and buy mixers.

Food is fine, but not great. Breakfast is actually not bad, stick to the fruit though. Bring your own snacks.

We did a lot of diving off this island and it is well positioned for this as many of the reef's are nearby.

Stayed here 2 nights as an event organizer with 24 guests. About the reservation, Mba Magda from marketing department is very helpful. She managed to fulfill my long request, thank you.

Some of the staff in the island is very helpful. Room is old but clean and spacious, AC is working, hot water is good. Food was great, plenty of fruit, lot of choices. Unfortunately the price is high, they charge per person not per room.

Do not expect sandy beaches for kids playing, but they have good place for snorkeling near the jetty. Be careful with sea urchin and jelly fish, better to use your boot, hand glove and full dive or swimming suit.

Overall I like this island, but not for family or romantic holiday. One more thing, the singer and the band was great. Actually the singer is working in restaurant and she changes her role into a singer at night. She is a good singer, four thumbs up.

Room Tip: modern cottage not wooden cottage

Having read some of the recent reviews on this site after booking and paying for a night on Pulau Putri, we set off with considerable trepidation. Arrived in bright sunshine and welcomed with some fish-feeding and a dance. On checking-in (efficient, no need to even sign a form) we were pleased to find our room was spacious, clean and cool (the AC running) with a pleasant sea view. Beds turned out to be very comfortable.

Lovely swimming pool, and the whole place neatly and tidily presented. Bought mosquito repellant (see review from December 2010) but didn't see a single mozzie the whole time. You can take a brisk walk around the island in about 10 minutes, and if you do so, you'll see the whole place appears well presented.

True, the resort is showing its age a bit, and the food is fairly basic - the menu probably appealing more to Indonesians than foreigners - but there were dishes (gado gado, chili veges) that met my vegan dietary needs without having to ask them to do a "special".

The price is high because they charge per person, not per room. On the other hand the price includes the boat there and back (1-1/2 hours there, 1-1/4 hours back, on time), a sunset cruise, a glass-bottomed boat ride (the reef is a bit tatty, and not so many fish), and all meals, live band and singer in the evening, etc and so I didn't feel ripped off.

I haven't been to any other of the Thousand Islands so can't provide a comparison.

All in all, we had a very pleasant couple of days. I'd be happy to return to Pulau Putri, but will probably try another island next time if only to see how they compare.

My partner and I just got back from this resort after staying for one night. We were counting down the hours until our departure within minutes of setting foot on the island. The staff are plentiful to say the least but they are inattentive and unhelpful. The food is horrendous, the rooms are dated and the island itself is nothing special. We have been travelling around Asia on a tight budget and have stayed in places for a fraction of the price that have been far better than this resort. The price of the tours is way over the odds for the experience and it is a thoroughly depressing place. This is my first ever review on trip adviser but I felt it was essential given how shoddy this place is.
