“Good bed, good shower”
Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

This definitely a good option for a transit hotel, 15 minutes walk from train station Gambir. Bed, shower, breakfast and price are right. They have a 24 hour bar and meal service. There was no daylight window, just a window to the hallway.
I would book this hotel again if I should have to transfer again in Jakarta.

Citi M Hotel has the potential to be a fine budget hotel. As yet it has not lived up to this potential. I would be happy to withdraw this review and its low rating if the management assures me that these problems have been addressed.

1. Problem: Location. VERY difficult to find. My driver had driven for my friend in Jakarta for 18 years and had to ask twice to find the hotel. Solution: hand out maps.

2. Problem: Hard to find rooms. Solution. Standard room signs in all hotels except this one.

3. Problem: runs out of food in buffet breakfast. Solution: have continuous updating of food, not just everything full at the beginning of breakfast and expect it to last all morning.

4. Problem: no safes in rooms. Scary to go around Jakarta with all your money and passports in your pocket. Solution: put safes in rooms.

5.Problem: no laundry. Laundry currently outsourced. OK. BUT minimum 3 kilos. Solution: in-house laundry.

6. Problem: Often no one at front desk. Solution: hire more staff or mandate that desk not be left unmanned,

Dear Don L Sir,
Thank you for staying with Citi M Hotel and for the constructive response. We are a fairly new hotel in Jakarta central and is always open to new ideas to help us improve and make our guests' stay more pleasant. As a matter of fact, the hotel mmgt has already approved the purchase of safety deposit boxes. We have maps ready at the reception counter tops. Located 100m from the Kantor Walikota jakarta pusat ( central jkt administration office ). We have already forwarded yr breakfast concerns to the kitchen. Since its the ramadan fasting period, the chef might be a brief lapse of preparation for breakfast as they need to cook twice every morning. We will discuss your review and concerns at our next staff meeting. Thank you once again sir, hopefully you can give us the opportunity again to accommodate you and your family at our premises in the near future. Enjoy the rest of the week. :)

Best Regards,
Geraldine Isabell,

This hotel is a very good price for it's location. Only ten minutes from the mall if there is no traffic 2hours in Jakarta traffic. Good sized room, friendly helpful staff. We were warned that the location may be a bit dangerous so be carful walking at night on your own. Breakfast was basic.

The hotel was quite far from the city centre, but easily reached by bus (busstation only 5-10 minutes walking). Staff was very kind and helpful! Breakfast was fine. Very un-asian: the room had a window! All in all I'd say that the hotel was rather expensive, but it did provide all necessities.

stayed in this hotel for 9 days and i must say, it's worth the price.
the staff is great, really friendly and helpful. Some of them don't speak english that well but they always call for someone else that can speak with you.

the room i had was very good, lots of space, gets cleaned every day and they provide you with fresh towels, toothpaste and a toothbrush.

the meny is a bit small but i recommend the pasta bolognese, kinda depends on who cooks it for you tho, however i was satisfied with the bolognese every time i had it.

The pool aint much ti speak off tho, it gets cleaned just once a week because its not owned by the hotel, its a public pool with a lot of kids in it during the day.

the hotel is a bit pricy but i was more than happy to pay a little bit extra to have my own room with Ac and Tv.

The Manager Kenet is a really friendly guy who speaks good English, he's got a lot of good tips on what to see, where to go and how to get there.

if i come back to Jakarta i will probably stay in this hotel again. 5/5 !!

The hotel is very well positioned, close to Gambir Station. The staff are friendly and there's a nice sociable foyer area. The standard room is windowless, which is reasonable given the low price. But the bathroom light couldn't be turned off, which illuminates the rest of the room. It was on automatic, which wasn't functioning. When turned off manually, it still left a smaller light on which prevented darkness. The breakfast was very basic.

For a budget hotel, this is by far the best you can get in Jakarta. It is new and clean, staff is polite and friendly. Friend who has been working in Jakarta came over and said you probably have to pay double for something similar down the road. Air con is cool and room is comfortable, with free wifi and buffet breakfast. (where do you find breakfast for such hotels?) Stayed several days and got to know the person in charge, Kenet, who worked and studied in Singapore and Australia. He was really friendly and helpful and you can ask him for advice on where to go. Came down late for breakfast one morning and he even asked his staff to bring something for me although all the food has been kept. Will be back to this place.
