“FANTASTIC CONCEPT”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

Stayed two night at this retro bohemian new hotel. Everything was good. Looking forward to come back soon again. Location is good, restaurant is very good. Design is fantastic in every part of the hotel. Please, open more hotels across Indonesia.

Room Tip: Rooms are a bit small but cleaver layout.

We stayed in this new boutique hotel in the heart of Jakarta city on 6th and 7th, March 2014. Architecturally unique in being partly contemporary and modern with fittings reminiscent of the mid 1950’s, the hotel exudes an atmosphere that is inviting, relaxed and comfortable. Check-in was fast with a delicious refreshing welcome drink of chilled papaya smoothie.

60 rooms are available, in categories ranging from a room size of 33, 18, or 16 square meters. Each being either lavish; individually tailored; or homely and intimate. The rooms are not large, but are furnished simply, yet clean, compact, and comfortable. Lovely goose down pillows and duvets, firm, thick mattress ensures a night with good sleep quality. The rooms have a very wide range of amenities from weighing scale machine, hairdryer, to matching bath robes and slippers. In-room lap-top size safe, satellite and cable TV, iPod dock, room refrigerator, toiletries by Kiehl’s, and even office paraphernalia, like stapler, ruler, eraser, scissors, and paper clips! Lighting is very adequate, air-conditioning silent and temperature control possible. The WiFi is pretty fast without having to log in each time when you access the internet. Complimentary coffee and tea and four of 600ml bottles of drinking water provided daily. The ‘wardrobe’ is unusually different, the likes I have not seen before, and certainly not meant to hang up lots of clothing. The walls along the corridor have an interestingly artful wood-work with models of spiders dotted here and there. Hand painted paintings decorate the large wall areas. There's only one lift.
Check out the many photographs with this review, as these speak better than words!

Food is available at the Waha Kitchen situated on the ground floor and which is opened 24 hours, seven days a week. The quality of service and the food are both very good; the prices here are good value for money. Mostly local Asian food fare on the menu leaning towards being Peranakan. There’s a roof top bar on the 9th floor accessible via the staircase on the 8th floor, and a gym. The sitting areas at the lounge and bar are decorated with chairs and artifacts simulating a home setting.

The Hotel staff are friendly, attentive, yet not intrusive. We found them polite and accommodative. English reasonably well spoken.

The Hotel is between 10 to 15 minutes walk or a short taxi ride away from Plaza Indonesia, the Grand Indonesian Mall, Sarina Mall and other shopping places. If you drive, there is complimentary underground parking. Taxis are plentiful. Considering the central location, the amenities, the hospitality, service, and the price, Kosenda Hotel is certainly worth returning to, especially for short stays in Jakarta.

We stayed for a few nights and this hotel is awesome. The rooms are not very big, but due to the awesome interior design, that is no problem at all. Also the lobby's interior design make you feel very comfortable! Huge selection of books and magazines which make you not wanna leave the lobby. Great atmosphere. Everything seems thought through very well in detail.
The service is excellent! Both the room service as well as in the restaurant downstairs.
The rooftop lounge is ok.
The breakfast simple but very good.
All the staff looks happy which makes me also more comfortable staying there.
Very good location.
Internet works fine.
They even have a small gym.
Can only recommend staying here. Although a bit expensive, but it is worth it!
The only downside might be the exhaust fan in the bathroom which is a bit loud.
I don't know why, but the air condition was not necessary, because it was always comfortablely cool in the room...

This is a new hotel that is ideally located within walking distance to just about everything you can imagine in Jakarta, they also have a shuttle bus driving to the main attractions in Jakarta.

I stay in 301 it's a small room but has everything you can think of, the only thing that can be a disadvantage is that it is not so good soundproof so are you sensitive when you sleep you should probably not stay here.

Ok restaurant, good breakfast.

Staff nice but it's opened so maybe not so hotel trained, you will hear the "SORRY" every time someone wants to serve you something.

I stayed here over NYE & I probably had the "worst" room in the entire hotel. It was on the top level & beside the door to the stairs for the rooftop bar (which is incredible & I highly recommend). Knowing that I would STILL stay in this hotel. It's the personal touches, everywhere you look there is something interesting and thoughtful in the design & concept. I'm from Melbourne & we pride ourselves on our coffee, they promote their baristas are from Melbourne & you can tell, the coffee is fantastic! They gave me a fresh watermelon juice on arrival while I checked in & generally speaking it they were very accommodating and helpful. This place is seriously cool.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on levels 2-4 (one elevator & quite slow) and towards the back. Morning prayers w...

I really enjoyed this hotel! It was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the central location. Rooms are a bit cozy, keep in mind, but I loved the design of the whole building too much to care. Also, free breakfast that goes till 11 am for you late risers out there. Enjoy!
