“Makes Me Love To Eat Udon!”
Reviewed June 20, 2014 via mobile

I'm not an Udon Person. Really.
But there was only this resto that opened at the moment. So me and friends gave it a shot.
Heck, we loved it!

You can choose to have your Uson served hot or cold. Since japanese loves to eat cold noodle in the summer.

You queue in line, and step by step you finish your order.
If you love to drink, order their ocha, it's refillable.
You can also have some additional snacks like tempura, roll, etc.

“Great Udon in Kota Kasablanka”
Reviewed June 19, 2014

Apparently this Restaurant is a chain, which i didn't know so far, maybe they can open one in Germany? hehe. Anyway i went there 3 times in the Kota Kasablanka mall, since it was the closest to my hotel. I ordered 3 times the same since i found the Udon soup fantastic! I really miss it now that i'm back home. So yummy, with the amaying udon noodles, meat, the crispy tempura on top and the fresh ciboullette. Yummi yummi yummi! And so practical and fast to order.

“Nice Udon, but don't be tempted by the tempuras”
Reviewed June 17, 2014 via mobile

Been eating here twice ( the Taman Anggrek Mall outlet)... First time was out of curiosity. I often saw a long line of people queuing to eat here, so one time I saw a relaxed queue we went straight in.

When you come in you will encounter a canteen style queue line. about 50% of the restaurant space is dedicated to the kitchen and cleaning space, you could see how they make their noodles and how the kitchen staff operate. From what I saw the kitchen staff work like a well oiled machine and probably more importantly, higienic.

When you wait in line, you should picke up a tray and few plates. Then as the line move you a staff will ask your udon order and they quickly made it. The fist time I was here, I ordered the one with chicken meatballs and white soup, while the second time I ordered beef with curry soup.

Afterward you will reach the tempura line and this is the time when the plates you picked up at the beginning of the queue play it roles. They have quite a lot of tempura selections from the usual kakiage vegetable tempura, sweet potato, and prawn to more unusual boiled egg, chilli and chicken.

Then you proceed to the cashier to order your drink and pay your food. Afterward you collect your drink (both hot and cold green tea are free flow) and a staff will help you find a table big enough to sit your party ( although in a lunch or dinner rush, I would think it will be hard to find it). There is also a small condiment bar where you can get some chopped chilli, spring onions, and tempura crunchy bits as well as eating utensils and sauce bowls.

The udon was pretty decent, although I prefer the chicken meatball udon, the price for them are pretty standard for udons here in Jakarta, but the tempuras are a different matter. The first time we were tempted to try many of them and racked up quite a bill. Unfortunately the taste didn't lived up to the price, although some of them are pretty nice. The second time around we got wiser and only picked tempuras we liked before.

So, the top tips for this place: go in during slow hours, either before the rush or after the rush and don't get too tempted with the tempuras, they looked delicious but they aren't that good and they are pricey!

“Nice”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Their niku udon taste wonderful, but my favorite is the kakiage or veggie tempura.Too bad they do not provide a regular chili sauce...It will be more perfect to eat a fresh crispy tempura with chili sauce dipping.
