The White Hunter (strange name btw) presents itself in a cozy wild-west atmosphere with romantically dim lighting, looking classy and expensive from the outside. The place offers authentic and original steaks and ribs; something that is getting rarer in a city full of overly seasoned and poorly cooked steaks. It is just a wee bit pricier than most standards, with its steaks ranging from Rp 90-180.000.
While my girlfriend and I were here mainly for the atmosphere, we did order serious menus; its Sniper Steak and Grilled Salmon. We were very impressed at how the meat and the fish were properly cooked and how fresh they tasted. Unlike most steaks served in other similar upscale places, the Sniper Steak's meat felt very original, with a tenderness and taste that is very enjoyable for anyone craving for a good steak.
Don't hope too much for size, though. As opposed to other places, the steaks here are a little bit smaller. Of course what they lack in quantity is compensated by quality.
I was, though, quite disappointed with the appetizer we ordered and the steaks' sauce. We ordered several menus that were fried; fried enoki & french fries, and they were all much too oily for our taste and we ended up not finishing them. The even bigger disappointment was the mushroom sauce that the steak came with, which was way too watered down and had its taste diminished.
Go here for a date over a serious dinner. Go here for a serious supper when you're craving for meat. But if you feel like ordering other menus, don't.
