Beautiful coffee. Great atmosphere and a really nice set up. Staff are friendly too.
The cafe is rather small so be mindful when you come in a large group.

Very few selection of small snacks and slices to choose from but they let you order and have your food from a restaurant next door. Which also serves tasty sandwhiches.

Best Coffee in Jakarta so far. I personally prefer Giyanti than Anomali or 1/15.

Will definitely come again.

“Doing justice to Indonesia's excellent beans”
Reviewed November 16, 2013 via mobile

Indonesia is blessed with wonderful coffee beans, but very few people that know how to properly roast and create coffee as a beverage. Somehow Nescafé, ABC, and Kapal Api have perverted the Indonesian palate, making them believe it is good coffee. Shame.

In the 4th most populous nation in the world, that grows some of the best coffee, there must be someone here that can make a proper cup!

Look no further, Hendrik, the owner of Giyanti, does more than properly create coffee as a beverage, he presents it as art. His knowledge of coffee pales the Starbucks and Coffee Beans mega shoppes of the world. He keeps daily tabs on the weather locations of his growers, hand picks the beans from the growers crops, experiments with every batch to produce the perfect cup, and does it with such a passion that one can't help but to leave Giyanti a more informed (and spoiled) aficionado.

When I walk in, I ask Hendrik what I will drink that day, not the other way around. I leave it in his hands and have yet to be disappointed. Rather I am always pleasantly surprised by his creation and have come to appreciate him as an artist. And unlike abstract painting, his art is immediately accessible to even the most layman of coffee drinkers.

Giyanti is a hidden gem in the heart of sprawling Jakarta. But it is quickly losing its secret status. Every time I go now, there are more and more people, Indonesian and bule alike, flocking to this caffeinated piece of paradise in an otherwise desolate waste land of prepackaged nastiness.

Go. Now. You won't regret it. Their hours are a little weird, because they have to freshly roast the beans in their shoppe. But, check ahead and trust me on this one.

“Hidden Gem”

In terms of coffee spot my personal preference is the roasting house. Well this is not a general acceptance criteria, but Giyanti is proven to back my opinion. Properly prepared, unique blend and taste, cozy and comfy place and resourceful staffs (especially the barista). Can't wait for next visit.

“Great great place!”
Reviewed October 25, 2013 via mobile

When i arrive... All the sudden I have this amazement of the place. So unique and cozy... Real homie, there are outdoor seating and indoors. Both is great. Not big though, inside there is settings for around 20 people inside and outside 20 more. But their decoration is just awesome. I love it.

More to say when my coffee is arrive. I order flat white with piccolo and it was amazing.

Trully just found a god new place where i can just hang here in peace. This is not a commercial place and I love it.

They open from Wednesday to Saturday only because on Sunday thru Tuesday they brew the coffee.

Definitely going back here. Just remember to bring my book.

Love it. Must go for coffee lovers. And those who appriciate great place to hang out with small group of friends.

Must must try.
