“very nice experience”

Reaching Amelia was a nervewrecking experience because the map given doesnt give the directions to reach once you are in the vicinity. No phone number..If the Harappan Kita and Mosque are highlighted then it would be easier for the new comers like us.Well,we took a Damri Bus to the Hospital stop but walked the wrong way...But,apart from directions once you enter the Home stay,Ms.Sumi and Her friend Ms.Lisa were very friendly. Also the Male staff there was very helpful. The Room was smaller than what we expected and the double bed was two separate beds. But i must say the room was impeccably neat, and the toilet, the bedlinen etc very clean. The staff were very courteous and very homely. This being our very first homestay experience,we werent sure what to expect. But,this homestay was truly a wonderful experience.Safety, security, feel at home ambience ,friendly courteous staff..truly a nice experience.Thank you.

Room Tip: If you are planning a relaxed laidback no frills holiday,to see jakarta..this one is like a simple h...

We arrive late in the airport and the staff arranged everything for a smoothly arrival and good rest. After 18 hours flying we could have a nice tea and good dinner (at midnight!!). Staff speaks english and is very friendly and attent. We just stay for one night and later a flocal friend come to pick up us by car so we dont know too much about location and food nearby. We are also owners of an B&B in Tigre, Argentina and we know how difficult is to be on service at any time and this is something we appreciate on the Amelia staff, even after our late requests they didnt want to charge us extra money. Good place, good people we felt like at home and be cared of.

Room Tip: We suggest to take rooms on lower ground instead of upper floor, the pump of water makes a sound eve...

Been to Jakarta and decided to stay here based on review in TripAdvisor. The place and area is unique. It is somewhat outskirt of Jakarta town center.

Pros:
i. Great Service. Really friendly and helpful staff.
ii. Unique Location. Nearby to outskirt area where you can learn a lot about local.
iii. Feels like home.
iv. Clean.
v. Value for money.
vi. Garden on roof top for relax after a hectic day at town center.

Cons:
i. Traffic Jam area. Even tough it is only few kilometers away from town center, you will spend almost an hour on the road.
ii. No nearby decent restaurant.
iii. Rooms a lil bit small, but that's what u paid for.

Room Tip: If you travel with kids or elderly, better request for ground floor room. Because the stair is quite...

Very clean rooms with own bathroom, good airco.
Location is very good, close to toll road, not too far from airport or malls.
(And for us, within walking distance of people we wanted to meet).
Good choice for breakfast (toast or indonesian dishes), small kitchen to make tea, coffe etc. Rooftop terrace.
Staff is very helpfull and attentive.
Owner is very helpful in pointing out places to go to, what not to miss.

Our first time here will definitely not be our last time!

Room Tip: Just give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

My wife and I visited Hong Kong then went to Jakarta for 3 days.

We wanted to stay somewhere central and we wanted to stay somewhere where we could experience direct interaction with the locals in economical, clean, comfortable and local accommodations.

After extensive searches on the web we came across Amelia Home Stay and it looked like what we were after so we booked it.

Let me tell you we definitely made a good choice. We could not have found anything better. This place is super clean, has modern amenities and our room was very comfortable. This place also has a nice rooftop lounge area where you can relax and enjoy the Jakarta atmosphere.

The staff were extremely helpful and in particular Susanti, who turned out to be the owner, was terrific. She is so passionate about Jakarta and it shows. She knows Jakarta inside out and helped us with site-seeing and good restaurants. Meeting her was a nice part of our Jakarta experience.

Would we stay here again? Absolutely.

I had the most pleasant experience staying at Amelia homestay. The room and facility were clean and comfortable. Excellent service and great location. With the very affordable price, it is totally worth it and I would highly recommend it to everyone including those who travel with family.
