I chose Taste Paradise for my family dinner because the place is quite big, they also put round tables, so it's good if you have a big family members.
The foods are ok, there are two we liked, Wasabi Prawns and Pecking Duck.
The restaurant's ambience is nice, a touch of luxury and also Chinese accents everywhere.
The service is also good, there;s one waiter who's very attentive and entertaining, he always throw jokes to the customers.

We arrived about 1:30 PM on Sunday & the restaurant was packed. The servers took our order of tea & then forgot about us. After flagging a server, we finally got only 1 menu & all others were with other guests. After flagging a different server, we finally got another menu.

The senior servers (the ones in full suits) finally came around to take our orders & were more professional, friendly & knowledgeable than the junior ones.

After getting our orders, the food tasted good but the restaurant uses MSG ("vetsin/micin") in nearly all its dishes & when we asked to hold the MSG, that was only possible for dishes like fried rice & a few others that doesn't use sauces. Thus, some reactions included extra thirst & a residual leftover around the gums hours after the meal. It's too bad since food tasted quite good & plating was creative, as was taste.

The decor follows some upper end restaurant trends of using low lighting, dark wood furniture & lots of private rooms. The atmosphere became more pleasant when patrons started leaving as the air became cooler & less stuffy.

For the price, it was reasonable & a pretty good deal but as much of the food used MSG, we'll opt for other Chinese restaurants which doesn't use MSG or can completely exclude it from their sauces.

For the price that you're paying, food is average. Sharks fin soup still had an odour when served. Set menu is pretty filling, thus if you're treating guests, don't worry about not providing enough food. Standard has dropped quite significantly for the past 2 years, so it's quite a pity that this restaurant is located in an upscale hotel bit doesn't do it justice.

I live in Jakarta and surely love Chinese food. This restaurant, from A to Z is not qualified to be inside a high end mall or Grand Hyatt hotel. The food is full of MSG and some even served cold. The waiter has no clue about their own menu when we ask for details. I have given this restaurant 3 chances but I really have to give it up. The sharks-fin has a bad smell, daily soup is not available after we ordered. Price is high as its situated as Grand Hyatt's Chinese restaurant.
