This restaurant was once located on the top floor of the ITC Mangga Dua shopping complex 2 decades ago & now occupies 1 of the top floors of the WTC Mangga Dua shopping (mostly for used cars) complex for the last decade now. There's a special parking area on the 6th floor parking lot for Taipan customers & can come in handy when there's a wedding at the Chunagon wedding hall restaurant next door.
This restaurant still serves good food & dim sum at reasonable prices with a nice view of parts of "kota" from its private rooms & main dining hall but is no longer as popular as during its heyday in the 90's up until early 2000's. 1 stand-out feature that continues to be popular is its private rooms that can seat anywhere from a table of 10 to many more that are outfitted with a karaoke system & TV with a pretty good selection of songs (Indonesian, Chinese & English language songs from many eras).
There's nothing much to see in the over-sized mall below the restaurant except many used cars & accessories until you reach the ground floor where there are more shops & traders but if you're in the Mangga Dua / "kota" / Chinatown area, it's recommended to stop by this restaurant for its dim sum, pigeon soup ("sup burung darah"), abalone, sea cucumber ("haisom"), shark's fin ("hisit"), Peking Duck & other dishes.
