If you are about to book a standard room and still expect a 5 star experience, you can forget about it. The Older wing which hosts the standard rooms as well as "So CALLED SPG FLOORS" gives you a feel that you have been robbed... and cheated.
The rooms have wood that has lost it's polish, the toilet is Old and you can bump into a nasty surprise like I did with a Very dirty Curtain !!!
Being a gold Member of SPG, I expected some good hospitality... but except this shabby room and artificial smiles and FAKE Sorry... there was nothing !!!

Room Tip: Avoind the Old wing at all cost, they said they have a New wing... but not sure how good that is.

I go to Jakarta often on business and the Le Meridien is always booked up well in advance- which is a good thing you would think...so this time i booked well in advance..but was disappointed
It was nothing special, is dated could not give me a Queen/Double sized bed for me or my business partners, even though I am a Starwood Member and we booked in advance and we were staying for 4 nights each.
Service while checking in was so so- they got our names wrong Vs our room number which causes a few problems when checking out and settling the bill.
In general just a so so hotel.

This hotel is well run. The staff are very friendly and efficient and I was impressed by the way they worked so well as a team. The food was good - sometimes a little slow to arrive and the atmosphere in some of the restaurants is a bit flat.

Stayed there for a week. The downside was its location. Yes it is central Jakarta - off the main busy highway that runs through the city. But to get anywhere and I mean anywhere you have to take a taxi - and because of the design of the road system you can end up being in traffic for over 30 minutes just to get to say another hotel down the road.

The room was ok - clean and comfortable. The view was appalling - dirty dusty windows looking out onto a huge building site where it looked as if building had stopped a long long time ago. The view was a bit depressing. I kept the curtains closed!

Plus side - the wifi internet is fast and free!

Room Tip: Ask not to face the building site. Although the other direction you probably look at a motorway!

I stayed here for three nights. The hotel is located about a mile or two from all of the major shopping malls in Jakarta. There also seems to be a lot of lounges, bars, and clubs to go to around the shopping areas. Taxis are always available at the hotel entrance and at all the major shopping malls. There seemed to be a lot of construction going on everywhere, so walking didn't seem too convenient. The bellman were very helpful and always relayed my destination to the taxi driver in case the driver's English wasn't good.

The hotel has a lot of security as do most of the popular hotels in Jakarta. They stop all cars and taxis at the entrance of the driveway, and check the contents of the trunk and underneath the car. There is even a baggage scanner at the entrance of the hotel itself and a metal detector. So be prepared to go through this every time you go back the hotel.

The lobby of the hotel was big and open. The reception area is directly to the right of the entrance. To the left was the concierge desk. The hotel had a gift shop, bakery, lounge bar, a nightclub, Japanese restaurant, Lebanese restaurant, and a buffet restaurant. The lounge bar has live music every night which was really nice. The club was good as well and had quite a few people after about 11:00.

My room was very nice and clean. It had a big closet for hanging your clothes. It came equipped with an iron and ironing board. The room had a mini refrigerator, a hot water boiler, and coffee machine. They gave a lot of complimentary water, tea, and coffee. It also had a selection of snacks. The room had a large flat screen tv, a desk, a nice soft bed with comfortable sheets, a small couch with a small coffee table, and a couple night stands. The night stand even came with an ihome alarm clock with ipod dock. The room also came with wired and wireless internet access.

The bathroom was very big. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body gel, hand soap, and other toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, lotions, etc.) in case you forgot to pack certain things. There was both a shower with nice glass walls/doors and a big bathtub.

I ate and drank at the lounge bar (Le Rendezvous Lounge). The food there was excellent and the drinks were good. Prices were also very reasonable considering it's an upper class hotel. The singer at the lounge was excellent. I also ordered room service which was fairly quick. The room service food was good as well.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to people visiting Jakarta. It would be a great place to stay if you wanted to enjoy hotel amenities or to shop and enjoy nightlife around the local area.

Was on a 5 night business trip. Booked in a Junior Suite, which I found very tight. Called teh Check in desk, got a upgrade to a Executive Suite for a bit extra. Brilliant room. Well furnished, recently refurbished. All was good, except that the Fruit basket is a Welcome only, and if you stay for 5 night, or 1, you get just one basket. That could be better. The "price included" laundry is a nice touch, but just 3 pieces is stingy. 4 would be better

Stayed here for more than two weeks with wifey and an infant. They have a standard crib for baby, which is always good. The deluxe room size is okay, enough to breath normally. The hotel is located in the very busy business district of South Jakarta. There is a flyover just south of the hotel and an unfinished building around it - do not expect a great view anywhere you stay. I recommend to stay in tower building, I believe it is newer compared to main building. Executive lounge is in tower bldg, too. It is easy to get to the hotel if you are coming from the airport and take the tollway. However, going back to tollway may be more complicated because the way Jakarta streets and roads are designed, you have to make a big long loop in heavy traffic to be able to be back in the tollway.

The interior design, finish, and furnitures are very much Indonesian. All staff from lobby to restaurants are very friendly and helpful. Because the length of our stay, the staff got to know my baby pretty well. We enjoyed eating the Le Brasserie restaurant during breakfast time. Filling up tummy with Lebanese food at Al Nafoura was a great option if you dont want to be in traffic to be at another restaurant.

Location is in business area. However, it's not allowed you to walk out from hotel. No mini-mart or supermarket nearby. To be there, you must take a taxi to get there.
