Mandarin Oriental Jakarta

I stay alone for 1 night only in this hotel.
The room and bathroom is above my expectation. It's luxurious, spacious enough, ample of amenity provided.
Water pressure is very good. I got the hot water less than 5 second after opening the tab. Bath tub filled in less than 10 minutes even it's a large and deep bath tub.
Staff is very friendly.
The only drawback is not easy to walk to adjancent shopping mall, Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia. Because you need to cross busy road and the overpass is a bit far. Moreover it's not safe to walk in Jakarta, especially at night.

If you are planning to go to Grand Indonesia or Plaza indonesia, better to stay at Grand Hyatt or Kempinski. I have never stay at Kempinski so cannot compare this hotel. Compared to Grand Hyatt, Room and bathroom of Mandarin is superior.

Room Tip: choose highest level possible

Extremely pleased with my stay at MO Jakarta. I was greeted by hotel rep at airport and diligently arranged Silver Bird taxi. Upon arrival at hotel, an extremely efficient lady (whose name I unfortunately forgot) greeted me at the car and led me to the room for a quick check in. As I felt unwell, she arranged for some Panadol to be delivered to the room together with complimentary food. Room was immaculate following the renovation and very spacious. Breakfast of excellent quality and variety. Central location made trips as convenient as traffic permits. Only minor complain was separate charge of internet access. For my money, the best hotel in Jakarta together with the Ritz Carlton.

The Mandarin Oriental is smack at the center of Jakarta within walking distance to one of the biggest Shopping Mall in Jakarta, The Grand Plaza. Unfortunately it is one the other side of the most busiest road as. Getting to the shopping mall would require a 10 minute walk to an overhead bridge to get over to the other side of the road. But back to the hotel. The room is huge with one of the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The bathroom is equally luxurious and impressive. They provide complementary fruits and mineral water daily. The buffet breakfast is excellent with a variety of Asian and Western selection of food.

A stunning hotel with superb service. The only slightly negative comment is the walk to Grand Indonesia if you want to do some shopping. It's only about 5 - 10 minutes but it can be a bit hot when it's 35 degrees.

After their renovation I stayed first time and very much enjoyed the new design of the suits and especially the bathroom design.

The breakfast was very good and anticipated the need of different cultures...

Overall was a great experience that you would expect from Mandarin Oriental.

Room Tip: you have to ask the room that overlook to the roundabout fountain and to Plaza Indonesia. Its a grea...

My wife, infant son and I stopped in here for two nights on our way back to another part of Indonesia, mostly to recover from jet lag before getting back to work.

The service at this place is amazing. Organised airport transfers and was met at the airport by the Mandarin rep who quickly got us a larger Silver Bird taxi after taking one look at our mountain of luggage.

Quickly and efficiently checked into our room we had a great nights sleep despite the busy roundabout below and typical Jakarta hullabaloo.

Excellent concierge who are very helpful. Restaurant staff were also great with prompt service and the food is just excellent. Room services sometimes took a little bit longer than they reckoned when placing the order.

If you're up for a bit of shopping then there are a number of decent places close by.

Will be staying again when in town, that's for sure.
