Everybody smiles at the Marriott in Jakarta. The staff seem to be the happiest people on the planet, greeting their customers enthusiastically at reception, in the lifts and as they deliver chocolates and fruit to the rooms in the early evening. The sad stories of bombs are forgotten. The rooms are spotless, with huge bathtubs, good lighting for work and plenty of space. Perhaps the best feature are the views from the executive lounge, from which - while sipping good wine and nibbling tasty food - the city's nightmare traffic jams and rapidly expanding malls can be peacefully observed from above. The outside world is a dangerous and dirty place, but inside the Marriott all is swish and secure. Have a nice day!

I was quite impressed with this hotel, where I stayed for six nights on a recent business trip. The breakfast is really amazing, with a juice bar, excellent fresh fruit, dim sum, Indian food, Chinese food, eggs, toast, noodles, salad, you name it! The coffee is excellent and you can get espresso or tea if you prefer. I had room service 4 or 5 times and was always very happy with it. I tried the Japanese restaurant and Chinese restaurant in the hotel and they were both good (the Chinese restaurant especially). I didn't care for the bar (the Blu Martini) but that's just me. The spa was also nice.

My home in Jakarta. This is an update, but repeat review, so I’ll be brief. The JWM continues to offer superb service, spacious rooms, and excellent security.

The Executive Lounge was, as always, really nice. Lots of food in the evening, with a rotating action station, where a chef is preparing food for you. They’ve upgraded the quality of the wines here (perhaps because of my prior review?????). And, in the mornings, they make a delightful cappuccino for takeaway.

Ate at the Japanese restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, and the food was great, the service crisp.

As always, I like the security here, and feel very comfortable.

I’ve been in meetings at the Four Seasons, the Shang, the Mulia and Le Meridien. I’ve also stayed at the Grand Hyatt. I continue to return here, and will keep coming back. Excellent hotel.

I like the most is the breakfast in Marriott. Various option of menu; from traditional nasi uduk, continental, italian pizza, korean food, juices, good coffee, etc just name it, they have it. Taste also okay.
I like the good quality of its pastry selection.
The room is big and bright, as you can expect from Marriott standard.
Jacuzi is another good spot, with wide window to see crowded Jakarta street.
In overall, you get what you paid for Mariott. It wont let you down.

Having stayed several times in this hotel I have to state that the quality of this place is reliably fantastic. Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms at very reasonable rates.

Safe value, I am sure to go back to.

Room Tip: In three times there I have never seen a bad room. I have always been at the higher up floors.

I stayed two nights for a conference in the hotel. Rooms are fine, good beds, large bathroom with bath and good-sized separate shower cabin. Complimentary fruit and water is available in the room, as good working air-conditioning. Both nights, though, there was quite some noise form the outside (whilst being on the 18th floor) which sounded like some type of generator.

I had breakfast twice on the 29th floor in the executive club that had a good selection of fresh and tasty food. Lunch and dinner were provided in the conference room and was excellent.

Key positive point of the hotel is its staff. Extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. All speak good English and make sure you get what you want even before asking. Most of them even remembered my name after speaking to them once! Every hotel should have staff like this.

Swimming pool is fine, clean and cool. Perhaps only a bit weird design in a 'S' shape, so that it's a bit tricky doing laps if there are more than 2 people in the pool.

Finally, my only gripe was perhaps the somewhat sketchy wireless internet. I had complementary access to the hotel's wifi network being a Marriott Rewards member, although I think any guest should have complimentary wifi access. The wireless network is divided in three hotspots/networks: public, conference and guestroom. So if you roam around the hotel quite a bit (like you do in most conferences) you constantly need to change networks. Also, network speed wasn't very fast either.

The hotel is an excellet hotel with multi cuisine food abnd excellent service with very courteous staff. The room where I stayed had a lovely view of the street opposite to the hotel. The room service was excellent. The toileteries provided were very good. It was an studio apartment with a sitting room and a bed room. It had two television sets one in the sitting room and other in the bed room. The bath tub was excellent.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view to Kuningan side
