This was my first visit to Jakarta and of course, my first stay at this hotel. The room I was given was spacious. Though supposedly a non-smoking room, there was a slight smoky stench from the vents. Housekeeping was late in cleaning the room. As with another reviewer, I found the lack of seats in the lobby irritating as this forced me to have drinks in the lobby bar/cafe. All I wanted was a seat to chat whilst waiting for the rest of my group. The big plus about this hotel is the free WIFI.

Please be informed currently our team are still doing re-setup the interior design of main lobby area including the furniture inside. The guest convenience in the lobby is our concern, in the meantime we are providing more chair in the cafe and in the area of second lobby to accomodate the guest during check-in or check-out process.

the room was decent size, but the cost was a bit hight in my opinion ( aroin 90-100 usd per night )

eveything else is as well , mini bar and room service are over charged ( a kit-kat an a coke cost me 7 usd ? )

might as well go out and turn left from the hotel there is a 7-11 you can buy eveything you want there...

maybe i am being a bit harsh but its not like it s 5 star hotel...

room was ok but not great , few flaws like the pain on the bathtube was peeling ( i am not sure if its paint or some type of coating/insulation )

but that was a turn off, no bathrobe provided...

oh the room service spa ( massage )

my wife and i took a 50 mins ( ran about 350 INR = 30 something usd )

worse masage ever, they keep chatting with each other and joking , all i wanted was to relax and get a massage, they then started to ask me where i was from , i did the stupid mistake of anwering it.

as soon as they hear i was canadien they started to act ... odd... ( i really dont have a better way to say it )

in the end the demanded a tip....

will go there again ? yes if it cost me haft what i paid... and no massage ever again ( from there )

Many firsts in this hotel.

First time I encountered 2 types of keys for guest room doors, sensor touch and magnetic. And yes, I have to be given the wrong type.

First time I encounter a rusty bath tub in a hotel outside of India. Also, the bathtub was refurbished long ago since 90 percent of the enamel is gone.

First time I was told that the water will be turned off at 10pm. I protested and a manager was supposed to discuss the matter with me never turned up or called. Next morning, the water had to be run for some minutes before it looked safe to shower in.

Many TV channels, good quite aircon, comfy bed.

Tired carpet, mediocre breakfast.

Polite staff, nice little gym.

Room Tip: Non-smoking room still smelled of tobacco.

First Time in Jakarta and Mercure proved to make it very pleasent. The only thing was cleaning or making up the room took till 3pm to get it done. Even when I had make up room since 10AM.
Meals were good.
