“Small and uncosy rooms”
Reviewed October 8, 2013 via mobile

The hotel is not easy to reach unless you find out which lift to use ... Once arrived you get a feeling like your in a campus with school... 2 floors and 2 long aisles.. Nothing impressive ... Rooms small and some rooms face the wall ... Problem in this hotel is the annoying doorbell which is a knocking iron thing ... It's so disturbing ... The hotel is so noisy ... You hear anything and everybody ... Worst thing is when room service start their walk and ringing all doors , you can here every single door knock from room 1 in the beginning until
The end ... Front staff lacks in English food is very poor ....

The biggest advantage of this Amaris Thamrin City is the location where you can go to Grand Indonesia and Tanah Abang wholesale easily. Nothing much to expect from the facilities within the hotel as all are basic and clean. Breakfast not good. Better go somewhere else.Plenty of good restaurants at ground floor. This is my second stay and will comeback again if the room rate is right.

Amaris Thamrin City is conveniently located in the heart of Jakarta, right in Thamrin City Mall, within walking distance to Grand Indonesia and Bundaran HI. Being a budget hotel, please do expect a decent room with not-so-appetizing breakfast. There are no non smoking rooms, so please ask the receptionist to switch room if it's filled with cigar odor.

As the price is very competitive compare to the same class of hotel, the hotel is worth to be chosen as transit hotel. Location is very superb, in the middle of shopping centres. It is very easy to find food centers around this hotel. Check in was easy and efficient, room was fair enough. Staffs were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was okay. I just found small leakage of the drainage, but it was okay. In conclusion, will be coming back in the near future.

I stayed at Amaris in June 2013. I find it the hotel quite good if you want to stay at the city centre without paying a fortune. The hotel is situated at the parking level (6th floor). First timers might find it hard to locate. Staff are friendly and helpful. They don't provide jug kettle in the room but there are water dispensers (hot and cold) located along the alley. Room is quite spacious for a budget hotel. Bathroom is clean and satisfying. Since the hotel is located inside a shopping mall, restaurants are aplenty. It is also very near to the luxurious Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia shopping malls. All in all, the hotel is worth a stay if you just want a cheap and comfortable place to sleep in. After all, most of the time we are going to be outdoors.

I was lost in the mall where the hotel is and after asking to many people around the mall, I found out it was in the other side of the mall from where I parked my car. And finally found out the elevator to the 6th floor! They need more signage for this one!

Check in was fast - the first good thing here.

Got a smelly room - smoking permitted but I guess they need to at least try to clean the air in the room before new customers walk into the room.

Bathroom and room was clean after all! - Another good thing.

Hardly found the hanger - they do not have wardrobe - just have some kind of spot that looks like a small wardrobe with hangers but acceptable.

A window facing another room's wall and...... WINDOW! I think people can peek into my room as I can peek into their as well!

Comfortable pillows, strong air conditioning, and free wifi (even though it was a slow connection) - make me feel better!

Walls are really thin! So noisy that I can not sleep! So unlucky to have noisy kids as 'neighbor' here.

Feeling crazy at the shower since shower temperature variable, exhaust fan doesn't work.

No kettle for hot water or whatever but found out I can have hot water somewhere in the corridor! - They need to tell me about this one!

No light snacks.

No signage or number for calling front office, the other room, etc! Ended up walking the corridor through the front office to get what I need.

Trying to be smarter to park at the 6th floor parking lot (where the hotel is) BUT then hardly parking my car near the hotel's parking lot (or mall's parking lot?), ended up parking far away from the lobby - but still better than walking through the opposite side of the mall.

Sorry, it is definitely not on my return list.

Just comeback from this hotel after spent 2 night for lebaran holiday. For shopping lover at 1 and d floor can find many variety of Batik, kabaya (traditional blouse ), bag shoes and manymore....for the price can bargain. For branded product and dining restaurant there are 2 mall close by ( grand Indonesia and plaza Indonesia ).
Room, bathroom clean enough for me. Bed is ok. Unfortunately very basic western breakfast ( bread, jam butter in bowl, and omelet) and Indonesia food taste so so, I saw many guest unfinished they food......shame. I hope the management consider this issue ....
