when i made reservation at Chandara, somebody's pick up my call and take my reservation politely. i was appreciating that she said her name and sum up my reservation correctly.
i went to restaurant a bit early than my reservations, when it comes to order, we order 2 appetizer and drinks for everyone. we ordered shrimp ball with sweet sauce and small salad in a cracker. shrimp ball taste really good while the salad taste weird, i didn't think anything special.
we ordered tom yum goong for everyone. the soup was great! with big shrimp on each bowl and many mushroom. it taste sour, sweet, spicy but a bit too clear compare to original tom yum goong.
for main course, we ordered 2 pineapple fried rice split into 5 portion, soft shell crab, fried white snapper and broccoli in oyster sauce. i cannot say something special about the fried rice, just fine, soft shell crab has a great taste sauce, i forget the name but the crab come with peanut cover but a bit oily. white snapper, again nothing special.
the improvement can be make is to serve in right sequence. all our dishes come together, start by the vegetable and even soup come last. my Indian friends said that only in Indonesia the soup always come last, we just laughing at him
we ordered dessert as well, they didn't have the famous mango and sticky rice, but they have the cassava with coconut milk. I've to wait about 15 minutes until my order come, it is fried bananas with vanilla ice cream. the plate came without a spoon, so i ask for it. but none come to give me the spoon. i then went to the bar and take the spoon by my self as my ice cream is melted.
overall, Chandara has something to improve here, and there.
