“Excectly what you want from a hostel”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

It's clean, has a nice hangout area and it is pretty cheap as well. Great bang for buck! It's also quite easy to reach this by public transport from the airport, they gave a nice explanation of where to go on their website.

Stayed at this hostel for 2 nights with 3 of my friends, we arrived late at night and were instantly made welcome by the friendly staff. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy, I also loved the international plug sockets with no need for adapters and the USB plugs also. The wifi was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and coffee! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

This hostel is nicely situated in central jakarta and offers very clean and appealing rooms for very little money. The staff is really helpful and friendly. There is a nice rooftop to chill out and get a break from the hustling and bustling if this huge city. If you are looking out for some dinner, there is a street restaurant (open 24/7) just across the street. It really doesnt look good at all, if not to say even repelling for western standards, but the food is excellent, fresh and cheap (about 1-2$/main course), so give it a shot!

Thank you so much for leaving some feedback for us. We do enjoy reading these reviews. Eating streetfood (at 'warungs') is one of the best things about being in this city. But yes, usually these places are not up to western standards of hygiene. The trick is to find busy places with high turnover, meaning ingredients are always fresh, and the place is popular with locals. If a place makes people sick, it will very quickly become unpopular and quiet. The place over the road from us is very popular with locals too, but you do need to manage your expectations in terms of decor and cleanliness. Great, very cheap food though!

There's loads of other warung and restaurants in our area, from mobile carts which appear in the evening to high-end fine dining (and everything in the middle)

Very good hostel and very friendly staff. Clean rooms and shared dining room downstairs, with TV – good place to get to know other guests from all over the world. Good location, near the flea market (I also recommend!) and shops. Opposite is a great but very small restaurant with Indonesian food and drinks. To get to Gambir Station take a rickshaw. Affordable prices in a capital town of Indonesia.

It's so easy to find 6 degrees. I love the rooftop, so peaceful at night, you can enjoy with your friends, serve web or just relax after a long travel day. The hostel is also very clean, too. 4 rooms use 1 toilet zone, however, it's so clean and not full as I thought. I was really suprised about that. Only 1 minus point is that the breakfast is the same everyday.

we're so happy that you enjoyed your stay at Six Degrees. The standard breakfast (toast, jam, chocolate spread, coffee, juice and fresh fruit) is the same every day, but guests can also ask for eggs (cooked any style) for a very small additional price. Thank you for taking the time to write a review!

I spent 4 nights at this hostel. From the minute I walked in I was made feel welcome. Nothing was too hard and lots of advice was given. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good and served with a smile by the staff I highly recommend a stay here.

Six degrees has received awards in recent months for its services and it is clear why. It is ideal for the travelling backpacker, there is a large communal area with everything from a computer to pool table to table tennis. There is a roof top bar perfect for meeting new people and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's a treat to stay here and a refreshing break from bustling Jakarta.
