“Great Rib soup and Sea food”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

If you stay in Kemang and getting bored with "western look food but not so western in taste" :) just try local food ! this restaurant are in the south part of Kemang district. I think the taxi or Ojek ( taxi-motor that so popular in Jakarta because it can beat the traffic ) knew this place :) The restaurant is always busy in lunch and dinner time so choose your right time :). They serve Typical of South Sulawesi ( celebes ) food. its named Konro. This is originally Buginese and Makassarese dish, usually this soup was made from rib of beef as main ingredients, nowdays so many variety of this rib dish, from grilled, fried and boiled. The spicy and strong taste was made from some local herbs named Keluwak ( this is also gave its blackish color of this soup ) also we can taste some coriander and nutmeg and many more :). Its definitely full of flavor soup ! in this restaurant they offer some variety of this Rib soup , from grilled with crab sauce , yes its a crab sauce, basically its crab meat pure with chili and sesame oil and some corn, its really good and not so hot :). they also cooked this grilled rib in Thai style but this is too spicy for western tongue. they serve all with a bowl of dark soup and you can enjoy this this with buras ( a cooked rice in banana leaf ) the taste of banana leaf on the rice is just superb! its compliment the spicy soup even better. I try also their sea food, their signature was grilled fish and some crab cuisine, mussel and many more. You can choose they way they cooked :) just don't forget to ask not too spicy, because locals love spicy food and you don't want deal with mess up stomach in your holly days :) right ? :)
