One of my fave place to eat in jakarta. Great selection of many kind of food; western, asian, indian, italian etc. My fave is the oyster!!!! Almost everything else are also delicious. It is so hard to stop eating. Hehehehe... The desserts station definetely superb!!! Magnifico!!! However, most of the cakes used liquor in it. So, a bit less option for me. The ice cream and frozen yoghurt are great. For me, it is one of the best buffet in jakarta. Worth the price you have to pay :))

We decided to celebrate our Anniversary at The Cafe, Hotel Mulia by having a dinner buffet. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good idea as the food variety wasn't that great as Satoo, Shangri La or Marriott... To our surprise in the Italian corner they did NOT even have the basic PENNE PASTA.... Why have an italian corner then ??? Coming to the Asian corner the Chicken was unbelivably HARD !!! The Indian corner too was limited and Boneless chicken was with BONES !!! Deserts variety was much better... On second thoughts, i should have started with desserts ;) Would not wanna waste my money going there again.... Satoo, Shangri La is way better than this !!!

We decided to try the famous hotel Mulia cafe. Arrived at 645pm place was busy for a Sunday night but not packed. First problem they tried to seat us really far away into a corner. They had plenty of good seats but only after we complained they moved us. Now this is a buffet, so when you sit down someone should take your drink order right? Not here it took over 12 minutes to get someone to pay attention to us. Then it took another 5-6 minutes to get the drinks. Not 5 star service at all.

The food for the most part was good with some mixed reviews. Prawns way too small and the crab not that good. The dim sum was excellent as were the desserts.

Overall I was not impressed at all with the "cafe". Jakarta has way to many other good buffet's to put up with bad service. We won't be back.

One of the best things that Hotel Mulia can offer for years is The Cafe. Famous for its international cuisine buffet, their fresh oyster is also the best in town. They have great Japanese food station, famous for their sashimi and sushi, don't forget they serve generous amount of fresh salmon sashimi at their station (unlike any other sashimi buffet in 5 star hotel restaurant). The Western station is great, they have the best lamb chop in town. Even the Indian cuisine station is good. The dessert station is definitely not to be missed, with the variety of home made ice creams, puddings, mousse, and home made frozen yoghurt with choices of toppings. And here is the thing about the taste of hotel food, most of the meal they serve at The Cafe are delicious. It's something you don't find at many other restaurants at hotels. So if you have approximately 400-500 k for a fancy and excellent buffet, The Cafe at Hotel Mulia is definitely have to be on top of your list.

Almost all of the foods are good but I liked the sashimi the best. I liked the Indonesian food as well, they have a variety of Indonesian dishes. I liked the delima juice. The coffee is unbeatable.
