MaxOne is probably one of the best small hotels that I've ever stayed in.

The location is quite strategic, at the heart of Jakarta. It even has its own small convenience store. The room is perfect, I love the way the set the layout. The bathroom is spacious. The only downside is the food really, but I don't bother that much because there are so many food vendors near the hotel. The service is decent, quite friendly and I think it will be better time to time.

If you're on a budget and looking for a place to stay at the heart of Jakarta, MaxOne hotel is definitely worth to consider.

Room Tip: Happiness Queen Standard

We have stayed for the second time with MaxOne. All we can say is: superbly nice, fast service and great location. Everything was simple and that makes it even better! For those of you who wants to breathe the Jakarta's energy (in a positive way), gotta take this place. There is also a highly recommended area for dine in in the area: "Seribu Rasa" and "Oh La La Cafe".

PS: Please do more with the breakfast choices.... We need some good energy starter!

We chose this low budget hotel (Rp 350.000 pernight) and didn’t hope for anything special. Apparently, it was a brand new hotel with colorful pop style interior and in the perfect location to enjoy the city without experience hours of taxi drive in the notorious Jakarta traffic jam. If you are honeymooners or want to spend most of your time in a hotel, this is not for you. If you are on tight budget but still need a clean room to rest and nice shower after long day, this hotel worth the value!

The room and bathroom was small, not the most comfortable sleeping bed, but it was VERY clean, which is a really BIG deal for us. The hotel is in Jalan Sabang (H. Agus Salim) where you can easily found 24 hours money changer and convenient stores, legendary delicious street food and worldwide choice of restaurant, from 24 hours Padang food to Lebanese food.

It was only walking distance to Trans Jakarta bus stop (a bus way transportation that has its own lane so it is relatively free from traffic jam). With the busway you can go to Sudirman business district area or Gambir train station easy. Also 10-15 minutes walk from hotel are several malls; from the luxury mall Plaza Indonesia (upscale mall for luxury brand like Louis Vuitton), EX mall – younger and hype mall that has Hard Rock Café and great place to hangout, the Sarinah thamrin – famous for Indonesian handicraft, 24 hour McDonalds and Mexican restaurant, and the huge Grand Indonesia shopping centre right in the front of the Jakarta iconic water fountain.

My only complain is, right outside this hotel is 24 hour convenient store Alfa -which is good- but when I shopped there, it smelled like dirty public toilet. People there said the smell came from the hotel. The hotel itself has no problem like this, so I hope hotel management can fix it and keep the hotel clean without affecting other business.

Room Tip: Chose the room near elevator where the phone is, make you easier to contact lobby, since no phone in the room.

Expect to pay around $30-£40 a night for this funky minimalist hotel in the heart of Sabang. Being new the hotel is wonderfully clean and well appointed. The rooms are small by Indonesian standards and there is no wardrobe. I suspect this means that its unsuited to long term guests, but at $30-$40 a night who cares, I could stay in it for a month. Staff are extremely friendly and despite being located on this busy street it feels very secure. There is only limited car parking. I thought taxis could be a problem, but absolutely not, although getting along Sabang can be a problem with so much traffic.

Sabang is a treasure for street food and restaurants, so the location is ideal. I really like the Manadoese Woku Belanga and the Sabang 16 Coffee shop, right by the hotel. Also close to the hotel is a very good cafe for Bakso Malang. But to be honest you've got everything on Sabang. However, if you want to avoid the crowds and dirt of Jakarta then don't book a hotel in this location.

Room Tip: Bring some coat hangers to hang clothes on hooks and put your suitcase under the bed.
