it was our second time stay in best western... we choose this hotel because its near by the harco mangga dua and ITC mangga dua center of cheap shopping in jakarta
we got super deluxe room, the room was in 32 floor so sometimes it takes 15 -20 minutes queue up for the lift.... huhuhuhu
but the room was very big and the bed was so comfy... this is what we love about best western.
the bathroom was small and they only gave us 2 towel... there is no small toewl for washing hand or face.... pitty....
but over all, we statisfied staying here considering the price is not so expensive

Room Tip: choose a super deluxe room

I stayed for 4 nights in mid-Nov for a business trip. I stayed in the nearby Le Grandeur in my previous trip and both are within walking distance, less than 5 mins walk through some dingy slum-like road.

The best thing about Best Western is the bed is very comfortable, even if the room is not very spacious, it's still good enough.

However, there's many things that I can complained...

1) Aircon - as many has said, the air con in the room doesn't work very well for the first 1 hr or so. After that it's ok but even at 18 degree, it feels more like 24. What I don't like is that there seems to be no aircon at the lobby on each floor so it gets very stuffy.
2) Lifts - There's 4 lifts that serves the whole block, which is about 35 storeys. The 4 lifts are not oversized lifts and it can take about 5-10 mins wait sometimes. I'm somewhat lucky as I stayed on 32nd floor, which is the 2nd highest floor. (Yes, I know i mentioned the building is abt 25 floors.. the reason is it starts at B - basement, L-Lobby, then F1/F2 - facilities/meeting room, then P1-5 for parking... then 7 or 8 till 33... so i don't know exactly how many floors! LOL).
3) Internet access - Room internet is only via LAN, which is very rare as now it's all wifi enabled. Outside of room, only the lobby area has Wifi (although I never try).
4) Mosquito - I was at the coffee lounge one evening for dinner and the place is full of mosquitos and some flies.
5) Lack of food options - other than the coffee lounge, which serves the breakfast (So so breaky but at least it's included and has an egg station), there's no other option since even the room service is almost identical menu but costs abt 5% more.

Other things include no bath tub for the room, location wise is good but heavy traffic, fitness center looks a little small but the pool looks ok.

Initially had problem with the air-cond. The room wasn't cool after an hour & I was perspiring even after a shower. But Housekeeping came to check & solved the problem.
Whilst the room was spacious, the bathroom was very small & narrow. Not impressed that there were only 2 bath towels. Hand/small towels are expected of a 4 star hotel.
These aside, the beds were super confortable with very thick mattress & choice of pillows. A good variety at the breakfast buffet.

My family and I stayed for 2 nights at Best Western Mangga Dua. We had a bad time in the room becaue of the poor air conditioning they had. Although they tried to fix several times but it seems the a/c system is not well installed hence sleep at night can be very uncomfortable. We requested another room and they said no availability. Something weird at this hotel is that some floors are not well prepared but they are still occupied by some guests (I guess asians) and if the left is open at one of those floors you may be hit by a horrible food smell.

On the other hand, the hotel is in a good location at Mangga Due area where most of the value for money shopping centers are just few miles away from you and the hotel offers a bus shuttle to some of those shopping centers. Also their breakfast is good.

The hotel is great. We love it. The room is big enough for us with two young children.

We love the breakfast but we hope they can change the menu on daily basis.

Pool is large enough and our two kids really enjoy the pool.

Location wise, the hotel is not located a long the main road and some taxis do not know the location of this hotel.

You cannot get Bluebird taxi from this hotel but you can always ask the hotel to call one for you.

The hotel provide free shuttle to and fro Mangga Dua mall, ITC or Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua. From these areas you can easily get Bluebird Taxi to go back to your hotel or city centre.

This hotel is located close to Indonesian themepark, Ancol which I think it is worth going there. We went to Ancol from morning until it closed at 8pm. We have no problem of getting Bluebird taxi from Ancol to hotel.

We have great time in Jakarta and exceptional sleeping experience in this hotel.

P/s: superb view of North Jakarta from our balcony.

Big building in an tasteless neighborhood, but not far from the city centre (a taxi should cost less than 20K RPI, no matter what the concierge says...)

Rooms are bipolar, I mean, the bedroom is nice, really good bed, good mattress, king size and 100% cotton sheets. Oddly, the toilet is old, a bit creepy, not at the room standard...There is a nice swimming pool, in an open space but covered (no problem if it rains). The gym is small but nice. There's also a spa (massages).

Stuff is quite unhelpful (they'll try to put you in a taxi of a more expensive company... choose Blue Bird). You can ask for a towel for the pool... only if you are plenty of time! They don't even speak proper english.

Breakfast (included) is nice, varied buffet. Hamburgers from the restaurant, for lunch or dinner, are awesome!
