Me and my husband stayed in this hotel for 3 days after our wedding, and I really really really love the interior design! The service was okay, the staff are friendly, the pool is great, the breakfast is buffet style and all food are delicious. Ocha Bella and Yaudah Bistro are next door, so it's a plus we don't have to go far away for food. It's walking distance to Jaksa where you can have cheap drinks and Thamrin area if you wanna go shopping to the malls. I really enjoyed my stay here and I would live there if I could afford it :D

We've stayed at this hotel for two days and it was not bad at all. The staff is very kind and are always ready to help you. The only minor let down has the small and hard queen bed. The nearby mosk did not bother us as this is a fact in this part of the world. I always carry ear plugs with me for any kind of noise at night and they did their job here as well.
We also recommend the Italian restaurant which is connected to the hotel. Nice food and kind staff!

Room Tip: Go for a king bed!

Pros:
- Architecture, interior design and visual identity is world class.
- Booked an deluxe studio and was upgraded to a 1 bedroom, which was a duplex like miniloft with good amenities.
- Location is very central and convenient with walking distance restaurants and eateries.
- Good value for money.

Cons:
- Room very noisy as my room was facing the street and was badly insulated.
- Very crowded so it's not a quiet place. Especially the breakfast room is way too small for the capacity.
- Breakfast organization is really bad. Everything is buffet like, including coffee and cutlery! So you keep walking back and forth to grab stuffs. Food was average.
- Lack of facilities (rooftop pool does not have a bar for exemple so you can not get drinks or anything, there is no spa either, gym is in fact 2 or 3 machines in a small room, no in house restaurant so no room service).
- The late check out is always a good test on the quality of the service. They refused even 1 hour late check out which would have been more convenient. Even worse, I was disturbed by a phone call (they rang me twice) at 11am reminding me the check out was at 12!!! Never seen that in a hotel.
- Staff greeting upon arrival and checking in formalities were very unpersonal and smile less.

Overall:
Eventhough the hotel design is top notch and worth a visit, I would not recommend the Morrissey for short stays because of the lack of service. You can get really good serviced hotels for the same price (try the Alila for exemple).

The hotel is very well designed. The rooms are clean and spacious and very comfortable. The only major problem with this hotel is the wailing at 5 am through loud speakers from the mosque next door. It just goes on and on. The location is next to jalan Jaksa, which has good ambience at night, albeit rowdy. Jaksa is a cheap backpacker area with a lot of cheap fleapits where young (and not so young) backpackers sleep. It is a little dirty, but the hotel is in the corner. It has an Italian restaurant with a nice band. The food is so, so, and the price too expensive. The hotel overall offers good value for money. The staff is helpful. Breakfast is served buffet style and included in the price. Except for Sundays, when there is no place to sit down, the breakfast is quite good. The room has enough plugs around, and the bathroom is very nice with a large shower with good water pressure. I would definitely recommend the place, but bring earplugs. The swoimming pool is really nice, with views of the Jakarta central skyline from an infinity pool. The water is very cold, but refreshing. It also has a small but nice gym. The sitting area around the pool is very lounge-like and comfortable.

Room Tip: As far away as possible form the mosque

though the name is Serviced apartment, it is a perfect place to stay. The interiors are cool, spacious rooms, cooking utensils in room. this is also suitable for long term stay. Variety in breakfast. courteous reception. 100% comfortable stay

I was blown away by the industrial Manhattan loft-inspired design of our studio room and how they somehow managed to fit a kitchenette, living area and a queen bed in such a small space without getting that cramped feeling. The hotel staff were very attentive from the front desk staff to the door man who called a Blue Bird taxi for us every time we headed out.

What annoyed me was getting a room facing a nearby mosque which was bothersome since Muslim prayers were recited/ played (from a pre-recording, I suppose) on full blast around 5 times a day-- this is fine during the day but not at 4 in the morning when the whole of Jakarta has not even woken up yet. I wish I was made known of this earlier!

I really enjoyed staying at the Morrissey. The staff was attentive, and the building was very creatively designed. My only complaint was the furnishings in the rooms are quite cheap - poor materials, and awkwardly designed. Also, the gym was tiny and the bathrooms were oddly outside.

The pool was very nice, with a view across Jakarta. It is a confusing city, and the Morrissey makes it feel a little like home.
