Had late lunch there with my colleague. It's been ages since I ate @ paulaner and decided to go for their infamous Pork Knuckle and some salad w/ other appetizer.

Was disappointed with the pork knuckle right away, it didn't have the same crunchy-ness and tasted like it was a cancelled order which they just re-heat when we order.

Appetizer and desert was so so, service was also very normal and they charged me more coz I asked for more sauce for the pork knuckle (pork knuckle is huge, but they only gave us 1 small cup of sauce for the pork knuckle).

If you're going there for the beers with friends and for some snacks and doesn't mind paying quite premium there, it wouldn't be a problem, but if you wanna enjoy a good old taste of a brauhaus's food there, I recommend you go elsewhere.

This is probably the all-round best choice for German fare in Jakarta, especially if you love pork, live near Bundera HI or are Asian and not really experienced regarding the German cuisine yet. As it is part of the Kempinski Hotel chain, you can expect 5 star service and food quality. Their pork knuckle is enormous and absolutely delicious. But the best value for money will be the huuuge “Schnitzel” (breaded escalops). The thing about any place that is located in a 5 star hotel is consistency. You know what you get, because you get what you pay for. Die Stube in Kemang is great as well, but not quite as consistent and has more of a “Kneipe” kind of vibe than the rather refined Paulaner. Both are great. Just don’t bother going to Ya Udah German Bistro, as that place is really bad.

The brew beer was out of stock that time so I didn't know how actually good it is. The pork sausage and knuckle were really good. The tax was little bit too high, that's the bad point hahahaha overall was good, I love the ambience though :D

Went there for the platter of sausages, knuckle,.. was not disappointed. Very decent quality.
The asparagus cream was a let down though. A thick floury cream without much taste.
I was there early but I can imagine that the ambience gets really happening later on with their live band
The one annoying thing is their lamps hanging over the tables. The bulb is right in your face. Not pleasant.
