We have been to the farm several times, and love it every time!! The food is so fresh it can't get any fresher, perfectly spiced up or down depending on the visitors! Every visit we learn something new, and this is real Bali, away from the busy streets of Kuta or posh hotels in Nusa. Ketut, our guide and Balinese expert, speaks very good English, so when we are struggeling in Bahasa he helps us out!! The farm has lots of animals and vegetation, this is nature's classroom!! Look forward to our next visit!

Four families, 16 total, visited Side By Side Organic Farm in Dausa village in East Bali. What a great experience we all had! We enjoyed planting rice, learning about medicinal plants, and being in a quiet natural setting. All of us felt that we became part of the Balinese farm family. The farm taught our children how they can make a difference; the teenagers learned to plant rice, tried to learn to climb coconut trees, plus they learned how to feed livestock. All of us were pleased to be back in traditional Bali. We hiked, laughed, and learned to connect as a family again. And the food! Fantastically delicious is not enough to describe it. Yummy, yummy, yummy!! Our guide, Ketut, and the village projects developer, Pamela, are people of action, not just words. We plan to visit the farm each time we return Bali. Thanks for such a great time, and for making a strong effort to keep Bali green. What an amazing venture this farm project is, most of it was built by globally concerned students from around the world. Teenagers and teachers who continue to make a difference, our families thank you. All proceeds from our visit go to help feed the farmers and their families, how great is that?!

We visited the farm and fish ponds for the day, and were treated to beautiful hospitality and the freshest food we have tasted in a long time! Healthy organic food, prepared on the spot, all in a lovely landscape of peaceful green and beauty. All around were crops growing and people earning a simple living while feeding their families and learning the hows and whys of organic farming and good health and education for their children. What a pleasure to see this all at work for the needy people of this area! We stopped to help a little, but had to press on - if we had had time we could have worked on the farm alongside the lovely folks there. The farm children were adorable!! We would go again in a flash if we could. We bought a pig and a fruit tree to reinvest back into the farm for the villagers, how good for my children to see giving in action like this...priceless.

We stayed at the farm for one night last time we were in Bali. Great place, great people, great food. Whe we arrived we were given a tour of the place, and we assisted in catching prawns and fish that woul later become part of a delicious meal. We also saw the trees that have been planted by volunteers and other donors, od we met with the farm animal.

In the afternoon we had a great meal, and before we went to sleep in one of the bales, we took a shower in the outdoor-shower, gazing up at the stars above.

Early nest morning Ketut, manager and guide, took us hiking in the surronding areas. This part of Bali is truly amazing! If you wanna meet some local, Balinese people and enjoy Bali's everydaylife, come to the village of Dausa, and stay at the Side By Side Farm

Our family of four visited Side By Side Organic Farm, Restaurant, and Homestay in East Bali. It is in a beautiful location, surrounded by rice fields, with Mt. Agung in the distance. Our children had fun feeding the farm livestock, fishing with bamboo poles, and playing games with the local children. The food is beyond delicious! The farmers pick fresh veggies, catch fish from the ponds and cook everything to perfection. We ate in an outdoor bale, a small Balinese style house with bamboo blinds for walls. There are four bales on the farm, the restaurant one overlooks the ponds and is delightful. Our family spent one night there. The beds were comfy, and the kids loved sleeping in nature. Ketut, our English speaking guide, was friendly, and knows his culture well. We were all impressed by the hard work put into this lovely place, most of it was built by international students from all over the world. Our family planted a tree to leave behind a green footprint in Bali. After a hearty lunch, Ketut took us hiking;wear good shoes, this guy is really physically fit. We loved visiting the real Bali and listening to nature. We felt our kids learned a lot about life, it was good for them to see how some people work to grow food. We will return next year. At Side By Side, our family experienced the true traditional lifestyle. We also visited the Sacred Water Temple near the farm, it is in a good location for visiting other sites. A visit to Side By Side helped our children to realize that we can make a difference while enjoying ourselves.
