“Not to be missed”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

I have tried twice to Archipelago Adventure for VTT tour with very different crowds: Regis always finds the nicest way to make you enjoy yourself in respect of everyone ability.
Children were really taking into consideration and the trip was adapted to please everyone.
A service to recommend for a different view of Bali.

“Great activity in Bali”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

We were a small group of 4 to do the Bedugul to Jatiluwih tour with Regis , the guide. A great experience, cycling through breathtaking sceneries. Mostly easy as none of us had experience with a mountain bike. The lunch was good and Regis was keen to share with us his knowledge of Bali. I have already recommended this tour to friends planning to visit Bali. A must if you want to get the real feel of the Island away from the Tourist crowd.

Superb !

Experience the real Bali avoiding the tourist traps : cocoa plantations etc.

Breathtaking views

Cycle through rice fields in a peaceful and safe environment.

That was definitely the highlight of our holidays in Bali !

“Beautiful scenic tour, but.....”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

We did the Bedugul to Jatiluwih tour.
The tour was incredible scenic and with many beautiful sights in a very natural local area with no tourists around.

We went 6 adults, my parents (60 years), my brother and I with our spouses (mid 30'ties).
A large part of the route was very easy. Some good climbing of hills was a good challenge for all of us. However, there were several parts that can be frightening or too difficult for the unexperienced MTB rider. I would not recommend this tour for children, oldies or unexperienced rider.

We must admit that while our group enjoyed the scenic tour, we didn't really got a good impression of Regis as the guide.

To begin with, he didn't started with an introduction of how the bikes work (front and back brakes, how to change the gears and how to adjust the saddle, helmet etc).
During riding, he often disappeared riding much faster than us.
He didn't tell anything about the local culture, area or story of the many villages even though we passed several villages, temples and even some kind of ceremony going on.

We had two crashes, one quite bad with my mother that fall down a rocky cliff about 1.5-2m right on her head first into a water creek (bleeding bruises, head fully immersed in water and soaked clothes. She was lucky). No help or attention was extended from Regis at both crashes. Right after the crash he simply disappeared again.
Overall, We found Regis a bit introvert and not an informative guide that we expected.

We would not do another tour with Regis, particular due to his lack of support after crashes and lack of instructions and infornation before and during the tour.
We paid 55USD per person. Under the right circumstances, it is ok priced. Many others bike tours available in Bali at that price.
