Four Points by Sheraton Lhasa
Ranked #9 of 373 Hotels in Lhasa
Reviewed May 3, 2013

We spent first two nights in a local Tibetan hotel and then decided to move to Four Points as we just wanted to have at least two nights of good sleep. This hotel is basic but offers everything you need, ie clean rooms, nice beds, warm showers (water could be hotter though), Internet connection (in-room cable access only) and a decent breakfast. Old Lhasa is about 10-15 min walkaway.

We stayed four nights and would recommend this property. It is close to the main attractions, has comfortable rooms, and is good value. We ended up using Cash and Points for our stay, so even better value! The breakfast was average, but our room was an upgrade and quite nice. The staff were courteous and helpful, and as others have commented, offer a variety of massages on site. You will probably only spend a few nights in Lhasa before moving on, so you may as well get a room in this comfortable option - it is popular with Western tourists!

I lived in this hotel before moving to St Regis. Four Points has been a relatively good brand in China and would like to give it a try. The hotel seems marketed at highest price among all 4-star hotels in Lhasa. the hotel is inside a street next to the main road, which is quite a quiet place.

I quite like the design of the hotel , the lobby is quite western style and inside is pretty much a Tibetian style. The room is a standard 4 star hotel room without much surprise. However, the room seems to be pretty clean compare to other 4* hotel (as my friends live at a 4* hotel and have visited their room, but certainly the price is much cheaper).

I especially like to stay at the open area outside the restaurant, which is so relaxing, you can enjoy a tea and enjoy the sunshine there (there has an big umbrella to cover you from the UV light too). The buffet at the restaurant is very nice, which plenty of things to choose from, you can have the Shanxi noodles or the crab from the Shanghai, or even the Salsom sashimi. Strongly recommend to go to the restaurant to have the dinner.

The breakfast is also of good quality and western style. All things are all okay except the price is relatively more expensive.

Room Tip: Try to ask for a suite room if you're a platinum member of SPG.

We stayed as part of a tour. The rooms are very nice (never been in a room that supplied oxygen), the breakfast was more than adequate. The staff was very friendly (stop outside of the hotel and waved to our bus as we left). The massage got rid of the aches from climbing the Great Wall. Provided a companion to walk to the ATM.

This is a modern hotel located within a short walk of old town. The rooms were adequate (especially on the upper floors), the staff was friendly but had limited English, and the food in the restaurant was very good. One elevator is small so you may have to wait. I even got a massage in the hotel.

Our first room stank of cigarette smoke. Luckily our guide offered us hers, a lovely disabled room on the ground floor. I was willing to pay for an upgrade but was told the hotel was full. Outside looks like a paint job is needed.
When my friend was really sick with altitude sickness they organised a doctor who put her on an IV and oxygen. Others in our group were even sicker and the hotel staff were great. I supect it happens a lot. I had a wonderful foot massage at the massage centre.
Food was pretty average.

Room Tip: Ask for a disabled room. Check in early and have a look at the room before you accept it.

Stayed here for three nights as part of a tour package, so I have no idea of what the cost was. I did not know what to expect in Tibet and was pleased with the overall quality and service. Desk staff were helpful, though some only had limited English skills, but adequate enough. There is a small convenience store across the street for the odd munchie or drink--much cheaper than the mini bar. Breakfast was good with a nice variety of foods, but the orange juice tended to run out early and did not get refilled. Found some interesting areas to walk around near the hotel, including a nice walk and people watching along the river.
