in a courtyard you find this little jewel, the Lhasa version of Starbucks. They have some sweets and all kinds of coffee and tea. They have some seating outside were they allow smoking so pick your table carefully. They also sell mugs, T-shirts and espresso cups. Of course we bought all three!

The title hopefully says it all - great coffee and reliable WiFi will, for many travellers, equal home from home after days or weeks on the road in China. A little tricky to find - just walk up from the Barkhor past the Lhasa Kitchen and it's in a little courtyard on the left side of the road. The muffins and cakes are nice but occasionally a little dry; in general the standard is pretty good, and in Lhasa it is simply a godsend.

European style cafe located in downtown Lhasa. Good coffee, tea and variety of cakes. Outdoor seating is available. Quick service. Only cash. Recommended for a nice coffee break.

After a few days in China you really need a good cup of coffee or a nice glass of wine (or a cookie, Snickers, whiskey etc.); Summit is one of those places you don't expect to find so remotely from home and therefore enjoy so much.
Though expensive, it is a must in Lhasa if you love coffee.

So it does have a certain starbucks feel, but after so much tea and milky tasteless coffee you need a proper espresso this is the place to go
