Not very large, but still a very interesting place to visit, if you are interested of Chinese religions and history.

Great "frescos" made of jade, describing various events in Confucius' life. Unfortunately texts only in china, so Chinese guide to interpret these is recommended.

Also very busy market area around this temple, so very easy to visit and connect to shopping activities etc.

There's no such a thing like "dislike" in areas like this... The Asian civilization has still a lot to offer to the Western countries. Confucius ' spirit still exists through the centuries: live ethically (strange that he expressed the same idea with Socrates, who lived in the same century before Christ, and at the same time these two philosophers never met each other!)

I can't imagine what the area would look like during the day, but at night it is full of lights. We took a boat ride down the river in an enclosed boat. If I had it to do again, I would probably choose the boats with the lanterns. I don't know the price difference, but there are not as many passengers and every passenger is next to side of the boat instead of 5 people to each row. The temple area is outdoors, so dress appropriately.

Not a bad place to spend a few hours. There are some good shops here, and its a nice place to pick up things to take back home. Be warned. If you don't bargain we'll, you'll pay too much!

The temple itself is pretty, but overpriced for what it offers. The area is quite nice at night when it is lit up. The shops are not worth going to, but the food that you can get all over the area is great. It's a good part of town to eat your way around.
