The Parkview is located within the city but off on its own little street/area which is quite beautiful. Taxis are very easy to get and for those who speak little or no Chinese the people at the front desk do speak English well and are very helpful with directing you to restaurants and other local areas of interest. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and very modern with all the ammenities if that's what you're interested in. I drove here from Shanghai so I'm unsure of other means of transportation to get to Nanjing and then to the Parkview.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter

Don book it ever. Well, dont know what to say. We had this hotel during our tour through China, just for one night. The rooms and the bathroom are not clean at all. Very old, the beds are not good as well, and we found some blood on the carpet from the guest which where there before us :-( . The loby is big and cold, the stuff was not good also. For the breakfast you have to go to the second building where the hotels apartments are. The breakfast in this building and the loby of the second building are the only reasons why I gave 3 stars in the raiting.

Although our stay was not particularly bad, I regret staying here mainly due to the location. It is not located near the city center or any of Nanjing's famous tourist sites. The Sun Yat-sen Memorial, the Presidential Palace, and the Rape of Nanjing Memorial were each 30 minute cab rides away (in different directions) from the hotel.

The hotel actually did not put us up in their main building (which is much more luxurious). We were instead put up in their downscale annex across the street (but we ate breakfast in the main building). Breakfast was excellent with lots to pick from. The beds were uncomfortable and there were no English news channels on the TV (if that matters to you). This hotel was rated four star on their interior plaque, so I kind of expected it. The AC did not work (like in most Chinese hotels) but we were able to open windows and that cooled the room.

I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a rooms in the main building.

I stayed one night in this hotel which has not too distant views of downtown Nanjing. It's five-star place with a more modest 'outbuilding' where I paid abut 450 RMB for the room. The room was quite good, not greatly spacious but big enough. The bed was comfortable and the room nicely clean. It had some curious features of an 'olde worlde' kind. Some furniture looked 'period' and it took me a bit of a search to find such things as slippers. By the time I left, I had found no teabags and I suspect there were none, a curious omission for a 5-star hotel. There were two complimentary bottles of water. The room was quiet and the prospect from the windows pleasant.

There were a couple of small imperfections. The toilet just keep flushing without my personal intervention and a power point took a little experimentation before my phone would charge. There are a limited number of TV channels but they do include BBC, CNN and a French, a German and a Japanese channel. Strangely omitted from the line up was CCTV News, the English channel.

I didn't bother with breakfast in the hotel since the room service full 'American' breakfast was something outrageous - about that of a buffet dinner in other five-star hotels in smaller places. I didn't imagine the 'personal attendance' breakfast would be much cheaper. The Continental breakfast would have had to be served on gold platters to make it worthwhile and the croissants would have had to be flown in from Paris. I opted instead for the 17 yuan KFC breakfast at the East Bus Station.

I felt contented enough with the hotel. I was attending a wedding there and so it was convenient enough. They have vastly more expensive rooms, of course - but I'm not into such prices on my personal account. However, if you are prepared to pay 450 RMB for a room in Nanjing, maybe somewhere in Xinjiekou or Gulou might give a place rather more centrally located. There is no nearby metro station - but Nanjing taxis are cheap. As for hailing taxis - you can't really and have to rely on the Concierge desk.

Room Tip: This is a good hotel with views of trees but if you aren't all that keen on a view of trees, per...

Hotel is very nice in a sort of park , rooms are good ( except for noisy aircon) and breakfast selection is good. Only stayed one night on business and went to 1912 for dinner , a long taxi ride.

Room Tip: Check the air con when you book in , ask for non smoking room if you dont smoke.

The dining hall is very nice! I love the decoration and the elegant colours. There are lots of Western food to choose from ..aside from Asian( Chinese). My significant other has been living there for a couple of months now and he has the same complaint every breakfast---the staffs never remember giving him a stirrer or teaspoon for his coffee.:) I saw and experienced it myself .

We're not staying in the hotel room but in a separate building for long term guests so there must be a difference.

One day of business trip and so much could be done. Excellent European food and they serve espresso coffee perfectly a right stimulant for business discussions.
Big rooms with excellent amenities for office work resting on a couch.

Quite restful
