If you intend to stay in this hotel, you should first ask about the noise of the heating plant and whether the room you have been allocated is going to be affected.
We checked into our room, which at first glance had some issues, but was mostly acceptable before we went out sightseeing.
Imagine our surprise when on return late at night we stand in our room and it now sounds like we are in a jumbo jet with all four engines roaring in our ears. The front desk when asked merely informed us that some rooms are like that, that they were full and there was nothing they could do about it and maybe we should get some ear plugs. Not the most helpful! We immediately checked out at midnight, travelled across town and checked into a Home Inn that my partner had stayed in before, before returning to the YishiYuan which we liked very much.
I have never stayed in a hotel with noisy rooms like that before anywhere in the world or anywhere else in China. The staff really should have told us about the room when we made the booking or checked in and we could choose whether to stay there or not.
Otherwise, lesser problems - the smell of urine in a lift, the room smelt of smoke and the entrance had a generally tacky feel about it.
The room was reasonably well equipped, but so it should be for the price!
