Have had a few quick lunch stops at Beppu Ekimae over the past year and have found the food to be consistently average (ok, la!), similar to recent years.
Ramen servings are good enough but could be better. Pork curry dishes have been inconsistent. The pork has always been fine but the curry sauce is not great. Tofu and fried tofu orders have been a hit or miss over the past year, the last serving was quite bad - tasting heavily of fried fish! Have tried sushi here a couple times in past years but it was not fresh enough so don't order anymore.
Overall, the food is ok and keeps you full. The wide selection of choices and relatively affordable prices keeps this place quite busy during lunch. However, the end, we much prefer the Ajisen Ramen franchises around the city. There are many more branches and we prefer the ramen and pork curry dishes there.
