“Straight lunch set, creative a la cart and excellent wine pairing.”

Lunch set menu  is straight forward , terrine foiegras  is excellent  , sea trout is cooked to perfection ontop mash potato and cabbage as side dish. 

- creative dish is a la carte menu : calotte of beef : 
   •  modern cuisine  is shown both molecular ( edible charcoal )  and sous vide technique ( aged carrots, egg yolk, beef colotte that came from snake river farm where has sent  to only three restaurant ; French laundry in Napa , Per se in New york ) . It is  as tender  as   tenderloin ( that served in Cafe causette) 

- Thank to professional of Sommelier, I am so impressed his  wine pairing Grand cru white wine and red wine from  NAPA . 
- I notice that it is normal to  serve  the side dish  after the main one  ( cabbage of  fish course, mash potato of  beef course )  in this restaurant. 

- Dress code is smart casual ( as same as Caprice, L' Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Spoon by Alain ducasse )

- The service is high level as Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. 

# Conclusion: I will try having dinner here in next trip in Hong Kong.

“Innovative Cuisine”

This is the kind of restaurant you expect to be a Michelin star, not one but deserves even 2 stars.
The meals are well balanced, perfectly presented and the right portions. What we most appreciate was the creative way the dishes were served. This is not an ordinary dinner but a whole experience, you hardly will forget.
The staff is immaculately dressed and absolutely professional. The place is beautifully decorated and relatively quiet.
We had 2 "tour 3", one glass of wine, 2 bottles of water and one coffee. The bill came HK$4689.30

“A nice place to celebrate”

Very good service and very original presentation of the dishes. The tables are positioned far from each other so it gives some privacy.

“HK$600 or US$80 steak”

When my wife and I visited HK earlier this month, we were invited out by a local couple for dinner. We were told Peninsula Gaddi's restaurant was full because of Christmas rush, and we had to settle for 2nd choice Mandarin Grill which apparently is also Michelin-starred. Unfortunately our first-time experience there was not good.

IMO there is only so much you can perform or excel cooking a piece of steak. When the restaurant charges HK$600+ (or US$80+) for a sirloin or prime rib, other things have to rise to the occasion to justify that kind of prices. Our waitpersons forgot and had to scramble to deliver the horse radish to go with our prime ribs already served on your table. Their service is definitely in question when one sees a lot of rushing bodies without enhancing any dining experience for the customer. That our <HK$1000 bottle of red wine deserved no decanter unlike other tables was anything but subtle. In any case, for our evening which wasn't cheap in the final tally, our dining experience was hardly worth the while.

Before we left, we jokingly asked the actually very pleasant manager Rebecca why were the staff dressed in tuxedo and long gowns, when we notice 1/2 of the diners were in casuals like T-shirts etc. Her answer that it might reflect the changes of times could indeed be true.

But then you have to ask why would you blow HK$600+ for a steak or prime rib if everything is so casual ?

We certainly wouldn't go back there for any business reasons or special occasions.

BTW Tripadvisors define $$$$ as "most expensive, special occasion" which is only 1/2 true in this case.
