“Very good food and excellent service”
Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

Very good value and the food was very good. The Caesar salad was excellent and the ham and melon gazpacho, although a little stingy on the ham, was good. Ossobucco was excellent as was the braised beef rib. Prices reasonable and the service was excellent. The terrace is nice although no view. Would recommend I'd you're looking for good food at a good price but are shying away from the overpriced steakhouses. Wine list also good.

“Good value for money for the brunch but food not extraordinary”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

Went to this place on a Sunday for the brunch. It was 1pm, there was still table available. The buffet has a wide choice but most of the food is not that exceptional. But for the price it is ok considering it is French food.

“Good food, mediocre ambiance”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

We had a variety of dishes and everything was delicious. I was here for a work dinner, so did not pay attention to prices- but the charcuterie and fois gras appetizers were on point, and our main courses of sea bass and lamb were perfectly prepared.
The weather was too chilly to enjoy the terrace but I'm sure it would be enjoyable as the harbor front lights come on in the evening.

“First night”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

We ate here the first night we were in Hong Kong. The prices were a bit of a shock, but we were to find out these were in fact average prices here. The service was good and attentive and the food pleasant though nothing you would rate as superb.

“bad experience at la villa restaurant tonight”
Reviewed April 14, 2012

I am from HK and we happened to spend a weekend at the Sheraton Kowloon. We have been eating at different restaurants with good food and service in Kowloon area but this time we want to try somewhere new in a hope of getting a good surprise. We asked the concierge of Sheraton for recommendation of a French restaurant, he gave me a few names such as Alain Spoon, etc., and he also recommended La villa, since we have never been to this restaurant and we looked forward to having a new experience but in fact it was a very very disappointed one!
The location of the restaurant is excellent, right by the harbor front across the street with nice Victoria harbor view.
Service –very unprofessional, in some occasion, we found it rude and unacceptable
First of all, no body greeted us when we came inside their restaurant until we asked about their menu, secondly, they served wrong the salad which we did not order, we called the waitress to inform her about it, she was a bit puzzled, thinking for a minute or two, then she realized she delivered the dish to the wrong table, she snatched the dish quickly and left to deliver to other table without making any comment to us such as a humble apology over the wrong delivery, when she came back to our table later, she acted as if nothing has happened before and made no comment whatsoever about this incidence. I called the manager for attention and trying to tell him how we felt in a hope to get his attention for service improvement in future, however, I was shocked to see such a “young” manger who appeared to be around 25 years old and I really felt he was too young to have enough experience and substance to handle such a position for a restaurant of this location and reputation.
Food – the bread that they served in the table was absolutely “below average”, the taste, texture, favor all no good
The snail was not so flesh, too soft and old and they were not out of the shell but already taken out.
The Spanish braked rice was also a disaster, too watery and therefore the rice was not roasted enough to bring out a good favor and texture. The seafood was not flesh at all as the mussel had a bad and deadly smell, the octopus was too soft and tasteless.
The apple thin tart with vanilla ice-cream was an absolutely showcase of a bad unwelcome as the apple tart was too small and thin and the ice-cream scope was so small and it was really a stingy act of the restaurant. Myself never like big size dessert but nevertheless I had never served such a small portion of the ice-cream on a normal dessert.
Anyway, the only dish was of satisfactory is the mushroom soup!
We ordered ONE glass of chianti red wine, one bottle of still water, one mushroom soup, one Spanish ham platter, one baked snail, one Spanish baked rice, one apple tart with ice-cream, myself and my wife, two little boys, we spent HKD 1475 or about usd 190. we feel it was overpriced, definitely it is way too high for the quality of food and service.
The band (I think is from the Philippines) was also very lousy, the sound of the male and female singers was not qualified, their voices were very light without any acoustic effect, posture and face expression was not entertaining.
