Therew as no traditional buffet for breakfast. This meant that every cooked meal was prepared individually - but was so slow. Our first breakfast took over an hour. Tell them you have someone picking you up and they can be quite quick!

Having tea at the Peninsula is one of the must-dos in HK. Be prepared to queue up, even on a weekday. We arrived at 2.30pm had to wait for about 15-20 minutes. Food is pricey...but this is the Peninsula after all, but quality is very good. The only downside is that the hotel or perhaps surrounding builiding was undergoing some renovation and it was very noisy with banging and drilling. This marred what would have otherwise been a pleasant outing.

A good way to escape from the hubbub and shopping and craziness of Hong Kong is to treat yourself to high tea at this famous venue. The lobby is beautiful, the service is superb and the pastries, tea and sandwiches were excellent. It is coupled by a wonderful quartet of musicians.
No one rushed us and we were totally relaxed once we were seated.

Tha only issue is the waiting time. We waited for an hour but we were warned so we knew what to expect.

This is the place to have breakfast, high tea or simply to read a newspaper. I even had a foot long hotdog for lunch.

For me The Peninsula Hotel is a 10/10 reference place in Hong-Kong. A place where you can enjoy of a XIX century service today. And the price is not expensive according with the highest quality can you get.
At the Lobby, don't forget to taste the enticements... with tea or coffee.
