Near Hollywood in a stylish neighborhood, this bistro has a big choice of cheese, wine and western food. The service is good and the food is up to standard.

From the minute we walked into Press Room we felt as if we had been transported to the Left Bank as we walked by a very-french iced display of shell fish. The decor hit the spot as did the food and service. The only minor glich was that our wine selection was unavailable but the wine steward made a perfectly fine alternate selection for us.
The goat cheese salad starter was excellent as were the coq au vin and the beef bourginon(sic) although we thought the latter was a tad superior. My wife had the hamburger which she thoroughly enjoyed. While we did not have dessert, I thought those served to the table next to us looked creative and attractive. Overall it was excellent and priced very fairly with several low cost options even at dinner.

I know bistros, and this is one of the best. Very authentic. Asparagus, bacon and egg were divine. The cold roast beef salad was impeccable. And a delight to enjoy a change from Asian food every day. Nice wines, fairly priced, by the glass or bottle, in fine condition. Who could ask for anything more?? I think the people who don't like this place, don't understand what a bistro is supposed to be. It's not a French restaurant, it's a casual, get a bite, but a tasty bite, sort of place. prices are not dirt cheap, but fair, for the high quality. Relaxed scene. Good looking crowd. Very near Cat Street, a famed divey antique street fun for browsing. Definitely worth a visit, if you have a hankering for some good Western food, for a change...

Went here for lunch on our last day in Hong Kong, Quite pricey but really really good food and a nice atmosphere. The walnut dressing on the baby asparagus and poached egg was wonderful. If you are looking for a place for a relaxing lunch this is it!
