Description: Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is the first and only casual restaurant chained based on a motion picture. The vision was a casual family restaurant chain themed on Forrest Gump’s life, philosophy and love of shrimp. It was an instant success, just like the movie. It captures the charm and American spirit that made Forrest Gump a smash hit with down-home décor reminiscent of the movie’s setting in Alabama, showcasing memorabilia and photos from the movie, along with reproductions of script pages, storyboards and even some costumes. Bubba Gump is located at the highest point of Hong Kong, the Peak. With the panoramic view of the Victoria Harbor, we are perfect for any events from birthday's to corporate gatherings.

We had a wonderful dinner at the Bubba Gump Restaurant at The Peak. After admiring the nice scenery on the peak, we went to have dinner at this restaurant. Quite crowded but we managed to get a table. But it was not near by the window so we requested one of the staffs to reserved for us the window seats if any of the customers are going away. Finally we gotten one table near the window and it was so nice while eating, you can see the scenery outside the window. Appreciate the staff very much.

The service in this restaurant was good, the staffs were busy yet still managed to pay attention to most of the customers. Food wise, it was not bad, we were very satisfied with the seafood, the fries and the drinks. My hubby had ordered a big size beer adn we were given a glass as souvenir! Drinking beer, eating nice food and enjoying the beautiful scenery outside the window, that was really a wonderful night for us!!! If you go in the daytime, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery clearer.

In all, this restaurant is a nice place to go, and the price are quite reasonable for that kind of food and the scenery you get to enjoy. Try it if you have a chance to go there!!!

We went there cause we loved the Bubba Gump in San Francisco and since we were at The Peak we gave it a try.
They seated us quite fast at a nice window table overlooking the city and the bay, took our order shortly after and the... THEY FORGOT ABOUT US!
We've been sitting there for an hour and nothing came, when the tables next to us started to get food we asked the waiter about our food and they just panicked... The manager came in and started asking us who took our order... How do I know? After I pointed out the guy they started screaming in chinese and then apologized to us and offered to take our order again and make it quick, but we had an appointment and we went... Hungry!
That's a really bad experience in a restaurant I like a lot...
Too bad...
Better luck next time!

I love this place.

I've been a couple of times to this one and to the one in NEw York. The food is great American food and the service is generally good and if you like Forrest Gump then you'll love this place and everything is themed from the movie.

This is a great place to treat yourself once you get to the top of the peak! especially if you've hiked it up! enjoy!

The last time my wife and I ate at Bubba Gump was in Maui several years ago and not only were we impressed with the food, sitting by the windows was also quite an experience by itself as we were frequently sprayed when the waves rolled in. The food was good and so was the memory. We were in Hong Kong just a few weeks ago and suddenly decided to go to the Peak for lunch, an event that would excite me immensely as a kid. We hopped on a taxi to get to the Peak Tram Terminus and found out from the driver when we were almost there that the line up to get on the tram was up to an hour and so we vouched to go directly to the Peak by taxi. Just for the sake of interest, the Peak Tram was not put into operation until 1926 and previous to that, commuting between the mansions on the Peak to Victoria, now known as Central, was done by palanquins and up till 1930, the local Chinese were not allowed to own a house there and it was not unusual to see signs like "Chinese and Dogs not allowed" as the Brits then, God bless them all, did not have a good enough crystal ball to predict the power that is China less than 100 years later. We had initially decided to lunch at the The Peak Lookout Restaurant was a historical building converted into a restaurant in 1947 and holds a lot of fond memories for my generation, even more so if you are a lover of the book, song and movie of Love is a Many Splendoured Things. The restaurant was packed that day and we were offered a table in the veranda but the wind was not cooperating and so we left and went to Bubba Gump instead. Service was efficient but curt and the servers we had come across were fluent in English, Cantonese and some Mandarin. While the menu was similar to the one in Maui, we were disappointed that langoustine was no where to be found. My personal feeling is that even though Bubba Gump started out as an American restaurant, they should try to change part of their menu to accommodate local tastes and to use local products. Even lesser eateries such as KFC, Pizza Hut and the Golden Arch have been doing this with success. The shrimps were fresh and the batter was crispy albeit not spicy enough. The cost for this lunch was reasonable but part of the reason is because we did not order too much as we often do. However, if you put away the food factor, this restaurant does offer a magnificent view of the Peak, Central, the harbor and beyond.

We visited Bubba Gump after recommendations from relatives. Getting to The Peak is an adventure in itself as the bus ride to the top leans precariously around steep bends. The restaurant was packed when we arrived at 6.30 so had a short wait for a table as we hadn't made a booking. There were many groups celebrating birthdays so it was quite noisy with the tables very close together.

The view was breathtaking looking down on the lights of Victoria Harbour. The wait staff were prompt whenever our 'run Forrest run' sign was turned over. Our mains and entrees were tasty without being outstanding. The cocktails were excellent and as a bonus got to keep the glasses!

The tram ride down from the peak was great and added to the whole dining experience. We would probably visit Bubba Gump again but mainly for the view.
