“Awful”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2012

I tried it a few times (Festival Walk, TKS) and I just don't think the food is good at all!! For this price, the food is poor! I really don't understand why there are always people queuing outside for tables!

“Great option for lunch in Taikoo but horrible wait time...”

I mostly come to this location to take a break away from local options but make sure you make a reservation.

“Simply lovely pastry!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2011

Great pastry at fairly reasonable prices (compare to other bakery who offers similar quality) and exciting menu.
It is owned by a catering group yet it still mange to build its own identity. In fact it became so popular that the queue got a bit dramatically long.
If you don't have the patience, simply grab a pastry or two to go and perhaps treat yourself with one of their cakes. It would have been a very delightful places where one could relax should the queue be shorter.

“Terrible food and service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2011

Went there with my friend on a Sunday. Had to queue for at least 15mins before it was even opened.

It was not worth the wait. At all.

Ordered the egg benedict. Was just about edible. Just about average western food quality in HK – i.e. not great. Towards the end of the meal, I turned the toast over – IT’S ALL BURNT. How great was that?! It was too late to do anything now since I already eaten most of it. Told the waiter when he came to take away our plates. His response “oh ok...” (as if he was saying "what do u expect to do?!") No apologies or anything. Excellent customer service isn’t it?

I suppose it is just another trendy pretentious western cafés in HK.

Definitely not going back. Not a chance.

“GREAT FOOD; GREAT STAFF!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2011

Tripadvisor really should update more often. Yor lead 'review' (Dated 2007) rubbishes the staff. I have been going to Simply Life every week now for 18 months. it is very successful; full at all times. The food is flavoursome, consistent and fairly priced. The staff are exceptionally attentive and cheerful even though they are travelling at express speed. They don't collect in a corner for chats. They are constantly cruising and watching us, the clients. The wine list is modest but with easy to drink, organic, very fair priced wines featured. In a mall, yes, but located at the top of the atrium where there is natural light . Allways a pleasant experience.
