“Loosing its personality”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

After I recently returned to Chez Patrick and discovered their new place I feel compelled to add to my previous review and have to downgrade the rating accordingly. The new location is all together different, more contemporary on the decoration, and catering to a larger number of guests. This means no more of that french touch for the ambiance and no more cosy intimate atmosphere while more staff has to be buzzing around while the kitchen is trying its best to adjust to the larger number of plates to be served. As a consequence, both food and service, although still of a good standard, were in want of some adjustment to the new setting. Really, it felt like being in just an other restaurant.

“Such a disappointment!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Don't bother!!! The setting and standard of this restaurant has a big potential...except the food! What was served was of low quality and tasted average. I had the escargot as a starter and the puree served with it was so dry it could have been sitting on the plate for days. Then I tried the fish Quenelle but didn't recognized the actual french dish of the same name. Couldn't finish the plate it was that average. The overhaul cooking didn't feel fresh and certainly not tasty. The good surprise was the cheese platter and desert that was actually not bad.

“Bad experience”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

Good and creative chef but without a good team to support. What a shame for dinning experience from Wanchai to Stanley. Too bad.

“Slow kitchen, food hasn't changed that much..... And could those glasses be any smaller??!!!”
Reviewed May 5, 2012

Went here at their new location in Wanchai on Queens Rd East. Service was slooooow. I still can't believe how long we had to wait for our mains.
Portions were small, and look at the pic of how small a glass they uses for a soda! The size of a cigarette box! Don't know what they're trying to get away with!
Having said that the interior was very nice, but certainly not worth going back to.

“Great little restaurant, with genuinely friendly service!”
Reviewed February 9, 2012

Just a quick review to say that we ate here on Saturday 4 February. We really enjoyed the food, inventive french food and the way that the french (head?) waiter interacted with customers. We also thought that the chef (Patrick) coming out and talking to guests was a nice touch and we liked the way that he was able to suggest some specials which he would be able to make. The menu is a little small, but when you add in the special suggestions from the chef, there was more than enough of a selection to choose from. It was a little more expensive than restaurants in Soho usually are - c.$600 per person for 3 courses of food, plus wine on top, but was well worth it! We were also able to reserve a seat for a saturday night at lunchtime on a saturday. The restaurant was not crowded, the tables were well spaced out and the room felt like comfortable luxury.
