Booked the chefs table for my husband and I prior to travelling and we were not disappointed. Perched on stools we watched the chefs create amazing dishes right under our noses in a tiny space. Served by the chefs directly including Alvin himself who is a character.
It is all I the details: the handcrafted and designed plates/ bowls etc compliment and showcase the amazing food, the explanations of the history of the dishes and smelling the ingredients to the advice on how to tackle each dish. Loved every dish and with several that were simple mouthfuls you yearned for more. Unlike many degustation meals did not hit the " oh my I'm so full and there's three courses to go!" The staff were very generous in topping up the glasses of matching wine.
Yes it's expensive but I think for a special occasion and foodie experience it is money wel spent

Once you find the entrance (tricky as usual in Hong Kong) you can find your table on the lovely terrace (exceptional in HK, even tough it has no view). Prepare to be amazed! From the reinterpretation of the street food waffle to the eight treasures tea, this place is truly exceptional. It's the first 3 star restaurant that gave me a real wow in years. Highly recommended.

visited here in 2011. tried their tasting menu and the gastronomic food was certainly innovative and good, although the service lacked any character with an air of poshness which i believe was meant to be a professional attitude.

small restaurant atmosphere which felt cramped vs intimate.

it was a bit pricey for the overall experience, about 6000+hkd for 3 people including a regular priced bottle of wine. similar to the cost of Nobu at the Intercontinental however they offer water views which definitely boosts the ambience.

If you want to dine at this two Michelin-starred restaurant but are not willing to spend too much, go for lunch instead of dinner as prices for lunch are much cheaper. There were two set lunch menus available when we visited and we chose the cheaper one as it was our first visit and didn't know what to expect. Loved the black truffle “cheung fun” - must try!! This place is definitely worth a second visit!

We were very impressed with the food and services here. Though very expensive, it's well worth a try, especially when you are looking for something not ordinary in your gourmet dining experiences. The food here is based on modern Chinese cuisine with the use of Korean, Japanese and French ingredients in some dishes. Each dish was nicely created and presented in an impressive way while staff would explain and advise the proper way to enjoy the dish.

Staff were very friendly, attentive and seem well knowledgeable in what they are doing. Only one thing that was missing is the presence of Chef Alvin Leung, which we were expecting to complete our dining experience here.
