This private dining experience is amazing. Out of the way location but the service and food were fabulous. Just the best meal in years!

“So good you want to keep it to yourself”
Reviewed November 19, 2010

Le Marron is a truly unique restaurant experience in Causeway Bay. Great french food (the lamb wellington, duck confit, escargots are all delicious), very friendly unpretentious service, very initimate warm ambiance. However, what makes this place rock is the fact it is BYO and there is NO corkage fee. There is also a charming long narrow balcony where one can cocktail or breakout for a mid-dinner ciggie. A great find. Strongly recommend you reserve a table particularly on Fri & Sat evenings. Bon Appetit!

“Casual place with interesting vibe”
Reviewed August 20, 2010

This hidden gem on the 12th floor of an old industrial style building makes you feel like you are in someone's personal home - lots of bric-a-brac dot the shelves, lacy gauzy curtains and standing screens create private dining areas allowing every table a sense of privacy. It has a very bohemian romantic feel. Wood detailing covers-up the fact that the space is in an old office building (you really get a surprise when you step out of the lift) The menu is varied with something for everyone and the food is quite good. No corkage allowed us wine lovers to bring a few of our own bottles to enjoy with our meal. A really interesting restaurant that probably warrants a return visit.

“A little piece of France in CWB”
Reviewed August 2, 2010

I went to Le Marron last week with 3 of my friends. We have all before, loved it the 1st time and decided to come again.

There were so many things on the menu that sounded amazing so we ended up sharing everything.

Our favs were -
Escargots - great flavour and not chewing at all!
French onion soup - very filling and very tasty
lamb loin - a little too much black pepper but so tender and was a good size
oysters - very fresh and they have a promotion on at the moment, I think it was buy 2 get 1 free
warm chocolate pudding - amazing!

Def recommend this restaurant, friendly staff and we love the atmosphere!

“Good food, friendly service. A must go to restaurant.”
Reviewed July 31, 2010

I went to Le Marron for dinner with a large group of people for a friends birthday, we had warm bread and pate to start off with which was yummy. We shared escargots, parma ham and foie gras for starters which were all very good especially the snails with the garlic mash potato on the bottom.

For my main I ordered the confit de canard (duck) which was very tasty. The only downside to the restaurant is the noisy customers on other tables, as the spaces between each table is quite limited.

For dessert we ordered creme brulee, baked banana and apple crumble to share around. Surprisingly when the desserts came out the waitress brought out a chocolate pudding with Happy Birthday written on the plate, which was a lovely touch to our dinner.

All in all good food, and very friendly service.
