tea time at the verandah was the highlight of our last trip to hong kong. we chose the verandah over the much-hyped peninsula because they accepted reservations (sorry, but lining up really just cheapens the experience in my opinion) -- it was a good decision because they did not disappoint! the place had a very old-world colonial feel to it, and the service was top-notch. we had the tea set for two while enjoying nice views of the ocean (repulse bay beach is best enjoyed from a distance). the food and tea were excellent. i loved that the place was calm and quiet, perfect for a nice long conversation.
outside the verandah, you can explore rest of the repulse bay complex -- shops, a nice garden, a spa, etc.
tea for two = about HK$400
