Description: Situated above the city overlooking Pokfulam Country Park and the South China Sea, The Peak Lookout is a Hong Kong landmark with unique character. The restaurant, having served generations of patrons including both locals and visitors, offers fine food within an elegant heritage house seeped in rich history. This Grade II historic building, typifying 'East meets West' architecture, first began offering light refreshments in 1947 and continues to serve a wide range of international dishes of exceptional quality. The Peak Lookout recently reopened its doors following a stylish redesign, which includes the introduction of a contemporary raised terrace, ensuring a relaxed ambience ideal for al fresco dining. The restaurant's stunning location and natural surroundings means it offers guests a different experience each visit, depending on the time of year.

“Go early to avoid the queues...”
Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

If you want to ride the tram (which you will unless you're feeling really fit!)... Or be willing to get a taxi to the top instead (which lots of people seem to do when they see the lines waiting)

I went at 8am, just after opening and had the carriage to myself... An hour later when I got back down it was packed!

But early means no shops open (which I was fine with) but if that would be a disappointment to you then maybe wait and brave the crowds.

It's definitely worth doing, if I went again I would go at night to see the skyline in all it's glory... It was fairly hazy in the morning with the sun and the smog but still amazing to see.

There are some nice trails to do in the park at the top, with joggers and dog walkers to keep you company.

“Fantastic View!!!”
Reviewed January 28, 2014 via mobile

But the patience you have to have to get on the tram it is still worth it. There is only shopping and food up on the top and you will be accosted to. Buy stuff the second you are off the tram. Take the circle walk it is very calm and relaxing after that ride up. Pack a lunch there are some stunning views you can sit and enjoy. The ride down is the same packed and crazy everyone shoving as if it's the last tram ever!! Just get on the paths and you will regain you sanity. Overall worth the visit!

“Great location and good food”
Reviewed January 26, 2014

If you're up for a nice romantic (though pricy but hey it's HK) dinner, this is worth a visit.
Have a look over HK from the peak and enjoy some nice food.
The menu is very diverse (goes from seafood over italian to indian) so you'll find something you like.

“Great Location - Terrible Service”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

The Peak Lookout can't be beat for the lovely garden setting just opposite the top of the peak tram, but the prices are not worthy of the less than average food and terrible service. If you must come here, order a drink on the patio, then eat elsewhere.

“Best Restaurant Table to take in Hong Kong from”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

The Peak Lookout (or Peak View Cafe as it used to be known) isn't cheap or for budget travelers. Come here to splurge and treat yourself to perhaps the best views of the great city that any dining table can offer. The food itself is great but not life-changing. The seafood platter with deep fried soft shell crab is wonderful. The Tandoori chicken was also surprisingly authentic. The prices are steep but you're paying for the view as much as the food.
