This restaurant has been around forever and has many imitators. Located on the first floor of the Peninsula hotel we always go out of our way to find time to visit Chesa for dinner whilst in Hong Kong to enjoy a quiet evening of classic swiss food. The service staff are very knowledgable and efficient, attentive but lacking a sense of humour. They are so serious about what they do, but if you ask them for anything they are most professional and highly knowledgeable. I don;t think the word flexibility is in their vocabulary though. If you like a good cold meats platter, fondue or raclette this is the place for you... Their liver dishes are superb and the wine selection introduces some light swiss white wines I have come to love. Cosy yes, but quite formal, you need a jacket to feel comfortable. Not the place for a loud, large, rowdy table, more of an intimate and private dinner for two. Love it..

Had lunch with friends at this cozy Swiss chalet-like restaurant and enjoyed a pleasant respite from the hustle-bustle of city life... Genuinely nice old-time Maitre d' catered to our every little request with understanding and courtesy. Food was tasty (the Raclette was so fragrantly good) and wholesome (the new potato for the cheese fondue was fresh with a crispy crunch), price for lunch was very reasonable too, especially for a restaurant inside a five-star establishment. Highly recommended for a family sunday brunch (saw small kids dining there with no problem), a romantic dinner, a relaxing meal of good-quality comfort food.

Chesa is a fantastic old school style of European restaurant which is a rarity these days in HK or Singapore. A must have - fondue - cheese or beef fondue - both are marquee dishes and very well made. Service is excellent and the old world charm is still intact - something which we cannot find in many of the modern eateries today. A must try.

We chose Chesa for lunch based on its location and TripAdvisor reviews and a strong desire for Swiss food, especially Zurich food. The setting and decoration are somewhat romantic and evocative of a traditional restaurant in Switzerland. We were on a tight schedule, so we did not order fondue. Both my wife’s pork loin baked in dried fruit and Gruyere crust with cabbage roll in Calvados sauce and my emince de veau Zurichoise were excellent. We were able to access wi-fi in the restaurant. The chocolate mousse was also delicious. Service was very good, and the manager was friendly and jovial, checking to ensure that the dishes were properly prepared. We had a glass of Chateau Filhot Sauterne 2000 which was sweet and very good. The price was commensurate with the quality of food and service and its location in the Peninsula Hotel. They gave us a coupon for two free pieces of chocolate from the chocolate shop in the basement, but we did not have time to visit it. Chesa deserves its high TripAdvisor ranking, and we recommend it for excellent Swiss food and service.

Had dinner there in 2 occasions. The food was very good. The staff very attentive it seems everybody in Hong Kong go there for their fondues as fondues are not my favorites I am pleased that their menues had other choices.
