To me one of the great things about the Mandarin is you can have an a la carte breakfast included in the room rate. Being able to choose from such a great selection really makes a refreshing change to hotel buffets. Sausage burger and ham and cheese toasties were really good.

“Good Food - Pleasant atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2014

I had both a breakfast and a dinner at the Cafe. I enjoyed the relaxed ambiance of this cafe. It's a bit on the pricey side, but about what your would expect in a Mandarin. Breakfast was good - I had the french toast one day and the oatmeal the next. The french toast is more of a large "chunk" as opposed to a slice, but was tasty. For dinner I tried the Singapore noodles - light and tasty. Good choice if you are tired after a long flight and don't want to "enjoy' the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.

“Upgrading required”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

This must be one of the worst place to have lunch in Central or within the Mandarin circuit.
The restaurant is noisy without any proper insulation. The service is totally not there and the waitress had to be flagged down before your presence is noticed.
The items on the menu are unappetising.
My onion soup is salty, the cheese is thin; the minestrone my wife contains macaroni which overpowers the freshness of the vegetables. The overall experience is unsatisfactory and falls short of a 5- star hotel standard.

“Good All Around Everyday Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014 via mobile

Cafe Causette tends to be more business lunch focus on weekdays but casual and relaxing on weekends...I like the place for both occasions as it has a variety of difference cuisines to choose from and a great ambience without feeling like you will be kicked out immediately after you eat. Some of their signature dishes include a Hainan Chicken and Nasi Goreng...both quite delicious. I ate here for Christmas Eve last year as well and it was a great affair with special treats such as Santa Claus giving small gifts to the children and caroling by a small choir. I recommend Cafe Causette for any day of the week...just be sure to make a reservation as it does get pretty packed.

“extensive menu for even a fussy eater”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

busy, fast and nice place for a quick bite. Great menu and good quality food and wine. The pizza's are great and many locals come just for the pizza. book if you want to make sure you don't have to wait at busy times...great place for a chat with friends.
