“Hiking from Quarry Bay to Tim Tam Reservoir - HK”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

Given the weather prediction as "Cloudy", we were skeptical on whether we, me and my colleague, can actually go for Hiking on the Saturday, 2nd Aug 2014. Around 9 am, the weather become sunny and we decided to hit hiking trail. We took the tram to Mount Parker Road Stop(all trams to Shaukeiwan will stop here). From there, took the right side road, where clear signs are available, and proceed into the trail. This trail is more like a normal road, but the first 3 kms was steep. the trail provides the very good view of the HK buildings, Victoria Harbour, avenue of starts , Kowloon side buildings. there are many diverisions from the regular path. Diversions like Sir Cecil Ride will actually takes you down to the mountain and then climbs up again to join the normal trail path at later point of time. after 3 kms, we hit the HOngkong Trail. This is the junction, where you have to decide whether you want to go towards Wanchai side or take another route back to quarry bay, or go to Tim Tam reservoir. the path with the check post is the way to tim tam reservoir. Normally this path is called the path to "the twins" mountain. this is downhill and very relaxing trail. You will have to follow the signs for Tim Tam reservoir or tim tam road. after around 5 kms, we reached tim Tam reservoir. its a beautiful reservoir and water was very clean, we could see the different varieties of fishes. Walk across the reservoir to reach the map. from there its like following the sign board of different areas around the reservoir, until you reach the bus road again. Overall it was around 8 kms, from quarry bay and we took around 2.30 hours. Better to get water, wear cap if its sunny, umbrella also. From the Tim Tam Road bus stop, there are many buses/mini buses, taxis to either to City or to Stanley beach.
